I wonder if they can build something in the 700-800 foot range on that plot next to Randolph tower or if it's to small or if they can destroy that parking garage behind Randolph tower and build there

There's already a mid-rise/short high-rise that's slated to be built next to the Randolph Tower. Nothing big will be going there

Appreciate it, Harry! Though it's my pleasure. Glad I found this forum all those years ago (maybe like 2005?). I didn't know it back then - I didn't start photography for another 5 years or so - but this place really jump started my interest in construction/architecture and helped fuel my career.

Same. I started lurking here around 2004 and didn't even create an account until 2009. This site has absolutely fueled my passion for architecture nd big construction projects. The information and photos that are shared on this site, and particularly the Chicago threads, are priceless.

Beautiful pics, this is by far my favorite large project in the city right now. What a transformation to this area!!

Side note while its being talked about I am so appreciative of this forum, I started lurking when I was only 12 or 13 and made an account when I was 14... Now I'm in my last year of architecture school and hope to continue with urban planning. Just want to thank everyone for your patience and willingness to respond to others questions especially when I first joined and had no clue how the development process worked..

Wonderful set!
Looking at the phone it makes me speculate that those lots just north of Chicago will see development in the next few years. I almost find it hard to imagine that another developer wouldn't want to piggyback off the activity that One Chicago will drum up.

I just hope that the buildings on the east side of the street can be landmarked or be saved from the wrecking ball in the process.

^^^ Loyola owns the North side of Chicago from the YMCA East. And yes, knowing them, they will probably trash as many historic buildings as possible.

Wonderful photos.

Has tower A reached it's first set of setbacks? Eyeballing it, I have a feeling that it has to be pretty close.

Thanks for the love from you (and everyone else) your support over the years is part of what kept me doing this, and what's helped me turn it into a career.

Sidenote, I did't get photos of it from ground level, but were fins going up on the north side of the podium's glass "box" so I suspect there will be more detail than earlier progress photos suggested
