And i can’t imagine the city approving a parkade there. With all the dumb stuff they let slide, even that seems beyond them.

That's what I thought too but the fact that it keeps being mentioned is causing me anxiety.

Look at Wpg_Guy showing me up again. Better pictures of Ronald McDonald House, better aerial pictures of True North Square....I thought we had a no online bullying policy around here, where is Human Resources.

Demo crews and fencing have arrived at the St Regis. Goodbye derelict dump, hello new surface parking lot (pending sale by CV)!

I'm fairly certain as a condition of the sale the developer will have to build something. CentreVenture wouldn't have held onto the building this long to turn it into a parking lot. That is essentially their mandate - no more parking lots downtown.

There is currently a forsale sign on the south side of the building with CV’s logo on it, so thinking this means it hasn’t been sold yet and is being demolished by CV? Would that even make financial sense? Anyone know anything?

My understanding is they are doing this to satisfy a condition of the sale. They remove the building and the new developer builds something new. I know most would just say make the developer pay for demolition, but think of it as an incentive to get a buyer for a difficult location.

I have been told by two sources the site has been sold. I have been told it will not be a “temporary “ surface parking lot. Perhaps a parade...

CV is into the site for over $9,000,000. How much it has sold for and if there is a VTB you will have to ask...

I’m unsure who is paying paying for the demo.

A step in the right direction perhaps.

The purchaser I have been informed is Gerald Matheson from M5 Investments.

Same guy that owned Bentley homes that went bankrupt. Forced several contractors to take out mortgages on their homes so they could pay their employees because of that man. He screwed so many people out of money including his own family, he had his cousin doing work for him, knowing full well he wasn’t gonna pay him because he was planning his bankruptcy. Yet gets away with it and gets to continuously start up new businesses. It’s nice when mommy and daddy have money.

Man I tire of this. Again and again and again. These charlatans continue to hoodwink this city time and time again. Sam's years seemed to have set the stage. Dogleg anyone? Build a community because that's the only reason for the dogleg? Because Sam's your friend? Police station? Two sets of books by Caspian? $100,000 to both Sam and Smeegle or whatever his name is. Police won't lay charges, city now looking to sue.

Feel free to pile on...
