There was a project in development a couple of years ago. Around 60,000 sq ft with two floors of retail, with a liquor store coming back on the 2nd floor. Maybe they're waiting for the many other offices nearby to lease up, or for the new Broadway Plan, or they have just shelved the idea for now. Not much more here.

Thanks CC, never seen that before either. I'd agree likely waiting until the Broadway plan is complete, like a lot of landowners.

A DP application for a 4,000 sq ft. single family house at 1538 Marpole, right next to Granville & 16th
and 800 meters from Granville & Broadway skytrain is being built to an astoundingly low 0.39 FSR...because Shaughnessy.

I love the old Shaughnessy area, those grand houses. It is hardly suburban sprawl, more historic (for Vancouver standards). There's pleny of other areas densifying

If you’re going to rant about SFH then Shaughnessy should not be immune. There’s no reason a building looking exactly like that couldn’t be multifamily.

Shaughnessy is different though, it isn't sprawl. To have a small historic heart like this isn't the end of the world

That project is going to be facing well organized opposition, this would be a great one for people on here to throw support behind by emailing council, and better yet signup to speak if you're comfortable doing it.

Pretty much the story for the rest of Vancouver.

Thanks for the updates. So much happening in the Mt Pleasant "tech industrial" zone or whatever it's called.

The industrial up-zoning in OV and around Mt. Pleasant is totally under-rated and under-hyped IMO. IIRC there's lots of industrial mixed use and midrises U/C or proposed that don't get the excitement they deserve.

One has to admire the dedication of the volunteers from
@ahvancouver who, despite our recent lousy weather, have apparently spent the last couple days fighting to save these moderate income rental homes. Yet what could drive someone to put up posters in the cold #Vancouver rain?

Maybe it's related to the disparaging remarks made about renters, summarized in these staff report pages. We’ll have more on this public hearing before Tuesday, but you don’t have to wait to send your thoughts to city council at the link below.

From UrbanYVR - Concord Molson's site dubbed "Quantum Park":
Screenshot from promotional video.

The building fronting Burrard looks like office space.
Interesting that there would be a lot of "overlook" between fingers,
which Deloitte Summit remedies with the perforated walls on one side of each recess.

Note how the Pennyfarthing buildings appear to be missing.

I wonder if condos overlooking the DND site are a security risk

Here's the website (nothing to see need a password to get in):

Quantum Park, located at Vancouver’s Central District, will be a vibrant and interactive community for everyone to work and live organically.
So there will be offices.
