Freshly laid pavers on a concrete base bouncing around loose while they work to get the other lane done.

Construction for Wawanesa has an anticipated start date of January 4th 2021 with a completion date of July 2023 which is also the expected completion date for Sutton Place.

Looks like —. The asphalt patches in the paving stones is also hilarious.

Pavers for Graham is the worst material you could use there. It's gotta be 11" of concrete. Tint it and stamp it if you want. Save the pavers for sidewalk accents.

Be kinda wild seeing three cranes at the same time along that stretch of Carlton.

But that said, this is just going by the diagrams and I'm not sure how accurate that information is. According to the thread title, TNS II is 86.9 m but the diagram puts it between the 94 m Fort Garry Place and the 96 m MTS Place.

Man, it's been a long time since I've had a good discussion like this about heights and rankings
Same here.
I love to see the once in a blue moon race for top 10 in the city. lol.
I have always been fascinated by skyscrapers and architecture.
I do still appreciate older buildings with nice detailing as well.

Maybe Wawanesa has 2 cranes with the size of the building.

Remind me again, the ballet residence has relocated into TNS?

They will be, and a new residence will be constructed where the open air parkade is at the RWB building on Edmonton.

Thanks. If construction is to start in January (Ie: demolition), they need to be moving now.

I imagine with seeing how much 300 Main is being held up by only having one crane, Wawa will have two.

Side note, I was mistaken a while back when I said Skip was taking up the commercial in 223 Carlton, they are taking 95,000 sqft in 242 Hargrave. Their getting pretty close to being done construction, but move-in date is up in the air due to COVID.

Is the residence going over top of the parkade, or is the parkade coming down to make way for a new build? It looks at first glance as though the parkade was designed to be built over top of, but it isn't clear to me.

If the parkade gets demolished, will the RWB replace the parking spaces? With all the activity going on around there, I would think the parking situation is going to be a lot tighter in a few years, and staff with parking spaces won't be thrilled about having to give them up. Although who knows, with the effects of covid it's possible that demand for parking could be depressed for years to come...

Don't know if they're 'all' in TNS 2 but I know at least some of them are.

When the weather was nicer, groups of them would gather around the plaza staircase and do stretching, and you'll see them going in/out of the building carrying their outfits.

Skip has floors 5 - 8 at 242 Hargrave and the move-in date had been early December. What I hear is that they're slowing down the construction schedule as they're in no rush to bring all of those staff into the building right now.

Ceridian staff (3rd floor) are all remote now.

Have there been any changes at the TNS food hall? I hear it's dead in there. I would imagine sales must be way, way off the projected amounts.

I have no idea what the numbers are so this is purely anecdotal but I work nearby and will drop into the food hall for a coffee or food occasionally. I wouldn't say its dead. Its socially distanced so the size of the space makes it feel kind of dead but I'd say theres always a healthy amount of people eating/drinking there. But nothing like pre-covid, so obviously I suspect their sales are way lower than what they were hoping for.

My guess is Wawanesa will only require 1 crane. The building is fairly small (footprint)...I actually think that 2 cranes wouldn't fit. The majority of high rises get built with 1 crane. It is all about scheduling.

They haven't pursposely slowed down, I was in there yesterday. Occupancy is Nov 1 and the move-in date is still Dec 1 – and they're well on track for that – but they're pretty much operating under the assumption they aren't going in til January at earliest. They've just not making the decision official til November in case restrictions ease before then.

I was there Monday at 11am and we were one of 3 tables. I was there for dinner 2 weeks ago on a Tuesday and we were the only table not in Gusto.

They are getting obliterated. "Luckily" for them, TN is a partner in the overall operations so they can manage rent better, and the 3rd-party vendors' rent is strictly based on sales for the first 2 or 3 years, so they're OK as well.

Ouch, that's brutal ^. I've typically been in only during the 12-1 hour. But now that I think of it, the time I went in the evening (around 5-6) I was probably one of the only people.
