Came across an 12 min interview with the developer's CEO. It's a over a year old though so not sure how relevant it is for anyone interested: https://youtu.be/rFSREbk4cAM

Question about the term "super prime tower". Are these just marketing buzz words or is this actually used in real estate for BC condos? Saying this is a first for Burnaby seems kinda bold but kinda surprising if there are no other super prime towers in Burnaby. There's a lot of amazing condo towers in Burnaby so I doubt it would be the first.

Also I guess if anyone's interested in a pre-sales update, article says they're almost sold out at over 90%, last I checked last month, it was 80% sold.

Superprime is a term used in the global marketing of ultra high end luxury product, of which Akimbo is decidedly not.

Only examples of superprime multifamily in Vancouver would be Vancouver house, which will likely be joined by some of the projects upcoming along Alberni by Westbank, Landa or Bosa.

There are individual "superprime" SFH or units/penthouses in really good buildings, but for an entire building to be marketed as superprime it really needs to be the absolute top end of the market.

Thanks for the explanation on the term. Would you know if there are any super prime buildings in Burnaby or is it just Vancouver?

No not in Burnaby. Maybe someday but nothing remotely close at this point.

For older buildings Eugenia Place, the Presidio, the Erickson.

None of those really cut it. Terrace house may have but still may not be built. There are definitely a few U/C superprime buildings, like Kengo Kuma, and the Butterfly.

I'd say the only existing superprime condo I may have missed would be Harbour Green III, it was really in a league of its own when built.
