A quick snapshot of the larger multi unit developments currently under construction, approved, proposed, or we are reasonably certain are coming:

199 Queen Street - 63 units - under construction
20 Patience Lane - 35 units - under construction
346 Queen Street - 46 units - under construction
616-620 Forest Hill Road - 56 units - under construction (I think?)
707-737 Beaverbrook Street - 48 units - site prep
76-110 Forest Hill Road - 32 units - site prep
264-270 Rookswood Avenue - 168 units (two phases) - approved
650 Waterloo Row - 162 units (two phases) - approved
173 Clark Street - 12 units - approved
374 King Street - 18 units - approved
360-364 Union - 40 units - proposed

That's a total of 680 units.

That doesn't include the units in the Centennial Building, ongoing construction south of Bishop Drive (those developments often don't go before PAC and are not well documented online), the proposed townhouses and apartments on Limerick, the building that will no doubt be built at the extreme west end of Queen Street, the building planned for 340 King that hasn't gone before PAC yet, the next phases at the very bottom of Douglas Ave on either side of the new apartment there, the small building that is finishing construction on the western end of Brunswick Street, the new building on Priestman at the top of York (not sure if this is already under construction or not), the buildings Colpitts is planning around the old train station...

Crazy how much activity there is in terms of multi unit construction right now.

On Brianna Drive and Lian Street in the new area squeezed in between Hanwell Road and Bishop Drive there are several apartment buildings going up as well as dozens of single detached houses.

Crazy yes but still not enough inventory to meet current let alone future demand. Expect 2021 to be a barnburner!

Yeah, that's what I meant by south of Bishop.

There is also the 7 story mixed use building on Queen (next to chesspiece) that is currently under construction, not sure how many units are there. Also the two multiunit buildings on Ashley Crescent (adjacent to the 105 behind the Brookside mall) which are under construction (although one is nearly complete).

I have that one listed but I accidentally put King Street instead of Queen. It's 46 units.

Good catch on those Ashely Crescent ones, they didn't go to PAC either.

It is a tremendous amount of construction for the city of Fredericton. The reality is most of the major buildings ie: the two on Queen Street and the units on Patience Drive, Ashley Crescent, and the new units of Brianna / Lian Street have waitlists prior to digging a hole for a foundation. I met with a large developer and builder this past week and they said the biggest issues they face is there is not enough trades people to complete the work that is under construction or proposed and that materials are through the roof so much so that they are subsituting Steel studs for Wood studs and are looking more closely at building concrete and steel structures. 2021 looks to be a banner year and I can only guess that the population of the city is on the rise a bit more than we have saw in the past.

Just saw on FB, looks like EB Games on Prospect is closing shortly. The one in the mall will remain open.

I'm frankly surprised both stores were open for as long as they were. Considering how things are shifting to digital so much, and the trouble the chain itself is having, I'm not surprised at all for this one to be closed.

And if you're building with concrete and steel you may as well go over four storeys.

Pretty nice story and glad to see how successful this home grown company has become.

My wife bought a bunch of their swag for our kids when we were living in Saskatchewan, having no idea it was from NB. Glad to see them opening their flagship location here.

There is also a build at the corner of Main and Sunset that is under construction. Not sure the number of units

Not construction news but there is a new call center opening in the brookside mall, expected to hire 200 positions.

Also I see Tony Pepperoni has a new location beside Pur & Simple in the new strip mall on bishop. Not sure if this is a second location or if the first one is moving.

Also, not sure it was mentioned or not but Gisele's Pizzeria (on Forest Hill) is also opening a northside location in the strip mall by the Irving on Two Nations Crossing.

Nice to see some actual photos on the Freddy page.

Not a serious complaint, but it's always nice to see colour on the page, and photos always adds important context to a post.
