the building in the foreground (left) in that Edmonton pic is very Tashkent chic!

..but love how Stantec bulks up Edmonton's skyline!

It's definitely an underrated angle (IMO). Calgary's skyline used to be much longer East-West but the development of the Beltline over the past 15 years has really changed that.

I'm wondering what your actually meaning here, because I know you're educated and in jest of course, but the Calgary skyline has always been considerably longer east-west (3 km x 2 km), and what I'm assuming "the Best" in your comment is an autocorrect from "The Bow", even though that building didn't even contribute to that fact, let alone the opposite. The core is only more balanced now.

Edit: Oh 🞵🞵🞵🞵, or did you mean "the Beltline"? Because yeah that has definitely balanced the core, but certainly hasn't made it wider n/s than it is e/w even still (still nearly 2 km from Eau Claire Ave to 17th X 3.2 km from 14 St SW to 6 St SE). Even including Mission, the n/s direction is only 2.5 km.

Edit: Jesus I need to quit it with the fact checking. You're a good dude, please take no offense. Vyvanse + Beer = not a lazy boy apparently

No, no, you're totally right. Watching the debate last night drove me to drink a bottle of wine, which in turn apparently caused me to forget which direction is which. I fixed my post.

Never seen Stantec from this (less photogenic) angle. Is the orange pre-cast part of an elevator core?

Yes that is the elevator core. Its grey though not orange. That appears to be morning sun light.

The one with the yellow is the Boyel street community centre.

To the left is some new social housing. The grey building with the arch is a justice ministry and other legal services for the courts.

Behind the BSCC is fire hall one and EPS headquarters.

Not in the photo but to the right is 2 other affordable living buildings. One was driven by Mike Holmes.

I'd guess that they'll be asked to tone down the lighting effect.
Ah Fenwick... when I lived in Halifax, my girlfriend (now wife) was living in Fenwick the year that renovations where just beginning (over a decade ago). What a dump.

I like this angle and wish that the COE Tower was 20 more floors. That subtle bow is fantastic.

^ It is a cool view with the road leading into downtown and seemingly terminating at the Edmonton Tower.

The City of Edmonton Tower definitely has an understated elegance to it. It's a great looking building.

That's an excellent view, really nice layering and density in that image.

Apologies for the rather bad quality, this is Toronto's skyline just peeking over the Brickyard's hill, I took this yesterday morning:
