There was a post by Granville St twitter a couple years ago(?) that suggested the Lennox/Payless Building and the adjacent buildings would be demolished for redevelopment. That was the only indication.

Title does say "ground floor", but I agree, it looks like the shoe store next door, also it's an old photo as the trees don't have leafs.

Pic by me today.

This little hole has been there for weeks with the shovel.
The hole looks a bit bigger than it used to be.
Hidden loot under the old building?

Looks like work will start soon.

The big oak trees have been butchered to make way for hoarding, etc.

Pics by me today:

So it appears that hundreds of acorns from the adjacent oak trees have now sprouted on the vacant lot.

Every tree is sacred! Give it a few years and this'd be designated a heritage feature.

(and yes I do know someone who's home property has heritage-designated trees. )

It's possible that they were told to hold off on excavating till the City finishes with it's current Robson Street infrastructure updates.

Strangely, I have never seen a squirrel in that stretch of Robson St.
Could be that there isn't any other food source apart from the acorns once a year?
