I don't think Yonge & Rich is ugly, the pattern looks kind of cool driving up Jarvis (no pics you gotta see it in person) it's the dreary grey instead of red brick podium that is the let down, thanks to G+C's cheapness -- I believe aA is only the design architect here.

Now East United, that's an ugly building:

Exciting time for Montreal. Considering how many projects are still holes in the ground it should be an interesting next couple of years seeing how they turn out.

For anyone wondering, this is the render for The Hive (Kamloops)

It's gonna be a great addition to the city.

Thanks SkahHigh and Martin for the mtl updates. Am I wrong or is this truly the largest and tallest building boom in the city's history?

I think it is. And these updates didn't include 1 Square Phillips (200 meters/62 storeys) now in excavation, as well as the mysterious 900 Saint-Jacques (machinery on site, but we have no renderer yet), another 62 stories tower.

The George, Halifax. The construction site across the street will be a 25 storey tower. The park-like lot to the right will be the site of a new hospital. Actually the lot midway back on the far left is a development site too.

No photos but suburban Kitchener is building really hideous grey and beige high rises. Someday I'll try to grab some photos along streets like Homer Watson, Erb, etc. Hamilton also has this ugly aesthetic going on.

The United
C'mon somebody has to see some irony here:

"THE UNITED BUILDING is North America’s tallest heritage retention development. A residential tower will rise from the historic Maclean Publishing Company building in Toronto".

I really....really wish it was. I don't understand how the city approved this....thing. Either way, it'll make the area even more....interesting I guess, and not in a good way.
