I’d mostly agree. Just 🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵 that any great potential an empty lot could have is usually eaten up by the developments we hate the most.

We all know that the 🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵 gentrifications are waaaay more common. Look at the Sugarhouse neighborhood and say no mo.

70-80+ mph wind gusts in SLC today. Trees and overturned semis are all over the roads and power is out in large parts of the city. Hopefully it doesn't endanger any tower cranes. I'm not really sure how much those can take.

Sugarhouse Park has around a dozen uprooted trees that I could see from the road. All in all I saw at least 20 uprooted trees on my drive into work today, from south Sugarhouse to Research park. And too many broken huge branches to count. 2 downed power/telephone lines across roads. Should have stayed home and sipped coffee all day.

Liberty Park was the same way. Salt Lake City got absolutely wrecked.

Tower cranes are designed to withstand really powerful winds. I would be more worried about trees and roofs in a windstorm than cranes.

Two major much needed projects are slated for that contaminated site. That is if they can ever figure out how to afford to clean the place up.

The Slate - 148 unit mixed-use apartment project adjacent to the Central Ninth TRAX station in Salt Lake City.

The Sydney - 128 unit mixed-use brownfield redevelopment site adjacent to the Central Ninth TRAX station in Salt Lake City.
