The eastbound detour lanes on the 174 are now open. Shouldn't be long before the westbound detour opens as well to allow crews to build the flyover.

I can tell you from experience traveling with young children they would be absolutely entranced by traffic on the highway

Thanks for the video. We've seen so major progress on the east extension last month.

I still feel they've fallen behind. I remember reading in the Spring update that they planned on completing the foundation for the TPSS at Convent Glen station by the Fall, but virtually no work has been done in that area so far.

I honestly wish they could have found the funds to replace those old overpasses with something wider, higher and more attractive.

According to Michael Morgan, 174 traffic should be moved to the new Montreal Road overpass bridges by November. They will then be able to tear down the old highway to make room for the station. Seems ambitious...

Ambitious and doable at this point. Seems like bridge-building and bridge tear-downs have been getting their processes sped up over the decades. Might be due to "measure twice, cut once" thinking.

It certainly seems like there's been a push on do get this done over the past several weeks. I'm seeing lots of night-time and weekend work on the 174 whenever I am headed to/from Orleans.

Based on M. Morgan, the Montreal Road overpass the the big indicator of whether or not the contractor is on time for the east-end extension, and so far he seems very confident. For the south end, it's the Stadler Flirts (nothing to do with general construction or SNC). For the west end, it's the cut-and-cover Parkway/Richmond Underground tunnel, but for that he couldn't offer expected timelines and thus, it seems the City is unsure if it's on time or not.

He says that the City has added more safeguards to ensure things are done on time, but so far that seems hit-and-miss IMO.

Its one thing to measure construction schedule on these big ticket items. But moving dirt around and building structures is not the same as getting a train out on a line and commissioning. Wasn't that where the schedule extensions came from in the first phase?
