[Hallsy's Toupee]

Sunterra at Commerce Place is reopening on Sept 14!
I really hope they got rid of the gigantic juice bar that nobody bothered using.

[Hallsy's Toupee]

Coming soon to the MacLaren (SE corner of 124 St/102 Ave) is Brown's Craft House, their first location in Alberta.

Same ownership group. Well it was a matter of time until franchises found 124th.

OJs will not be pleased... first direct competition.

ghost kitchen trailers in place at 142 and SPR. Back of one has all of the "restaurants" listed.

[Coldrsx]

Yup... two in the Downtown area, going on three.

Innovative or a race to the bottom?

Heard that this morning. Not unexpected but sad never the less. Have only been a couple of time, usually after a show.

[Hallsy's Toupee]

The original Normands on Jasper Ave is still open AFAIK.
I completely forgot about Original Joe's in the High Street area. Competition is a good thing though.

Not sure if this was mentioned already but the Rose and Crown in MNP Tower is closed and the space is up for lease as a 'turnkey restaurant space'.

[Coldrsx]

That it is, that it is.

They celebrated its 40th last year if I recall.

Their lack of a patio probably was a death knell during this pandemic.

I'm hoping that someone comes along and takes over that space. If they can figure out a patio on the avenue it could be another great spot.

[Coldrsx]

Regardless of a planners dream redo, a north facing shadowed patio is unlikely to be successful.

*this was not the issue.
