Yeah, can't think of a deli downtown (Dunn's just closed, and otherwise there's just the supermarkets).
There used to be a Schlotzsky's deli where the Carl's Jr. is (?) on Dunsmuir & Howe.

Burrard Place will have a three-storey Toyota showroom at the corner of Burrard and Drake, with service areas on five underground levels, the only full-service dealership in downtown Vancouver. This will replace the old Pattison Toyota, which had stood on the site for 42 years. Reliance, which owns the property adjacent to the dealership, is contributing 60% of the land holdings and equity to the Burrard Place JV. Integrated into the same structure as the dealership will be a 13-storey, 135k SF office building, and Jon says the JV partners plan to retain and manage it as a long-term holding asset.

I did a quick search as I wondered if the Kingsway location is the new Edmonds and Kingsway Kings Crossing or somewhere else in Vancouver. I came across these:

Club 16 Trevor Linden Fitness will take over the operation and ownership of at least two Steve Nash Fitness World (SNFW) locations in Metro Vancouver later this year.

The Vancouver Canucks veteran’s namesake fitness gym chain will replace the SNFW locations at 4199 Lougheed Highway (near SkyTrain’s Gilmore Station) in North Burnaby and 10251 Edwards Drive (inside Sandman Signature Vancouver Airport Hotel) in Richmond.

The North Burnaby location spans 28,000 sq ft, while the Richmond location — including an indoor swimming pool — is 55,000 sq ft. Both locations are slated to open in September 2020.

They will have a total of 16 fitness gyms across the Lower Mainland upon the opening of the Chilliwack location.

Sale approved for struggling Steve Nash Fitness World in Burnaby - July 24 2020

A “Steve Nash Fitness World” sign is also on the new wing of the Amazing Brentwood development, as it was supposed to move into the renovation shopping centre. That move is now up in the air.

Recently, the Brentwood location was taken over by Club 16 Trevor Linden Fitness and is set to open in September.

The BC Supreme Court has approved the sale of SNFW Fitness B.C. Ltd.’s assets to FW Fitness BC Ltd.

The deal includes assigning the leases on 16 out of an original 29 locations to the new company. It is unclear if the remaining two Burnaby locations are on that list.

Cineplex Inc. says all its theatres and entertainment venues will be open later this week.

The Toronto-based movie exhibitor says 164 theatres, 1,687 screens and 10 entertainment complexes will be in operation again by Friday.

Cineplex has gradually been reopening its locations over the last few weeks following closures related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The company believes the return of all of its theatres makes it the first of the world's major film exhibitors to reopen its entire network of locations.

Those returning to Cineplex theatres are slowly being offered new releases to view, including “Spongebob: Sponge on the Run” and “Unhinged,” which debuted last week.

The films were released in Canada ahead of the US - a rare occurrence that will be repeated next week when Christopher Nolan's “Tenet” hits Cineplex screens.

I was at Winners/Homesense down in Burnaby today and they have one small sign in the checkout line that masks are now mandatory as of August 17, 2020.

there is no signage at the entrance or anywhere else and there is no enforcement as many customers, mostly men in a certain age bracket (20s) were not wearing masks.

that store too is severly lacking in product, the Coquitlam Homesense is pretty much back to pre-covid levels of stock.

Which one - there are two locations in Burnaby.

Maybe they're doing the honour system right now and will start enforcing it next week? One can only hope.

Sadly there are plenty of maskholes wandering around. Even my friend who has something of a phobic reaction to masks has one now.

I saw a posting on fb last week about how since introducing mandatory masks in one of the Carolinas that infection rates dropped 46%, so masks do work.

Today I saw anotheer typical covidiot saying why should I wear a mask if its no worse than a cold or flu?

The Homesense on Robson downtown has a sign at the base of the escalator and ever since they reopened, there's a staff member at the top dispensing hand santizer (or now enforcing masks)

I was at the Lougheed TC Walmart friday night and they were actually turning customers away for not wearing masks, they had a big sign at the door as well as security and staff at the door checking people.

I went to South Granville on saturday, there was a few stores gone. There was a petalon shop where that fancy clothing store used to be by Boboli. Decium was empty with a sign about covid on the door. James Perse had moved into the old Lucky brand space, the ronsons and the ronsons rack were both gone, Purdys was open but had a limited supply. A new furniture store called Oriental Casa in the former fancy baby store across from Purdys. Quite a few empty places though.

Even is masks are eventually proven to do nothing (near impossible given the amount of data we have), its such a minor inconvenience to put one on, the amount of energy people are willing to dedicate to argue against it is staggering to me.

It literally takes seconds, and if you get a comfy mask I don't even notice having them on anymore.
