Thanks.

They did a nice job on matching the grid of mullions on the corners of the "Grand Atrium".

Any sign whether the upper facade of the H&M would be the flagship creased/folds design?

Did I perhaps just run into you, SpongeG? I was there, just like an hour go, checking out those very same corridors.

On another note, someone has installed god-awful thick bamboo blinds on the west-facing penthouse of tower 1. Are such allowed as they look hideous even from the ground. Ugh.

I also noticed someone having one of those patio gas heaters on their balcony mid-building. Hard to say from the ground how tall it really was, but it looked like it's almost touching the balcony above it. I wonder how fire-safe those things are as you don't see them often on high-rise balconies...

Not that any of this is really my concern, but found those two things interesting.

Great update, thanks.
In the mall (is that the new part abutting the old mall?) where do the elevators and stairs go to? New parking?
I thought the handrail for the small step by BMO was amusing vs Vancouver House.
The different height doors are because the right set has the automatic door openers at the top.

The elevator goes downstairs to the parking and up to the food court. You can look down the stairs and see a lobby and doors to parking but its awkward to see right now as their is limited sightlines.

Where the flooring change is, is where the old meets the new, its pretty seamless other than the flooring. I don't know what the hoarding is for by the stairs and entrance, perhaps for the build out of Nike. It completely blocks half the hallway and the stairs as it is.

The Tim Hortons by that entrance is still closed due to covid.

it doesn't have much of anything yet, you can see upstairs that there is nothing happenning at all.

As for H&M home their store exteriors look like this, a black design

www.retailgazette.co.uk

deansblinds.co.uk

H&M has also changed their store designs they have lost the white look and look more upscale. Reminds me of Aritzia.

Love the new Scandinavian look.
What a shame that they haven't started construction yet! I was hoping to get some H&M Home shopping done. I went to the same UK store you posted last year and it was amazing.

Thanks.
It makes sense that the exterior stores like Nike have exposure inside the mall too.

EDIT - checked the plans and I think the bump-out is stairs to the upper food court.
It would be hoarded off to prevent public access upstairs.
You can see the 3 elevators on the plans and they are at the edge of the new construction.

Those stairs are probably there for food court access when they block off the old mall for renovation.

That's probably good - the Pacific Centre men's level looks like a discount/off-price store with all the white.

So there's actually 3 types of flooring here.
Marble in the newly built section by the elevators.
Brown tile in the old mall.
Ceramic tile in between the two sections (maybe temporary) as the ceiling in the middle looks older too.

I can't figure out the entrance in the middle now. I guess the middle with the ceramic tiles is part of the old mall? There was a Starbucks to the right by the other exit, and that is where CIBC now is?

source

starbuckseverywhere.net

this awning is the entrance by the new location of the BMO, there was a McDonalds to the left and IHOP to the right, did that section get demolished?

Here it is from the air in 2010.
The front of a whole wing was demolished.

http://old.globalairphotos.com/large.php...ea=Central&gallery=2010&page=0039&size=2

and in 2015. It appears that the BMO may be in a renovated old building.

The underground leasing plans show "unexcavated area" under the new BMO:

I took a peak through the sliver of the opening at Nike, and the store looks complete, just needs stock, there was a large sign that was on all lit up inside and all the store fixtures look installed, expect it could open this month.

they are taking the fencing down in this area. I am guessing they will make more parking? will it be free or will they charge though, why pay to park underground when its free at the ground level.

Perhaps they are preparing for the next phase? I thought that lot is suppose to be for another building or a community centre was it?

Seems like the tops of Brentwood One and Brentwood Two are illuminated with blue lights now. I remember they used to be red. I wonder if they're supposed to change colours every so often.

What I would say from my personal experience walking through these outdoor section is that they've been pretty busy this summer. Meaning, I see most of the outdoor tables/chairs occupied and people standing around eating, drinking and chatting. I have to imagine that more and more people will come as the mall slowly opens up. McDonald's is probably opening in like a month? Small Victory Bakery is another one that I'd look forward to personally to get some baked goods. Looking really good so far from what I've seen personally and from that video!

TD has hoarding up as its space is getting worked on
2020-09-09_03-53-29 by snub_you, on Flickr

I've noticed the last few times walking past that there is a window missing at the Rec Room space and also that the windows look like they can be opened up

2020-09-09_03-53-46 by snub_you, on Flickr

2020-09-09_03-54-04 by snub_you, on Flickr

some progress, looks like this will be a roadway for the boulevard to connect to the old parking and exits
2020-09-09_03-54-18 by snub_you, on Flickr

2020-09-09_03-54-30 by snub_you, on Flickr

Also the space where Suit Supply will be has been painted black.
