Just some features of Vista (units). It appears all the cheaper one's have been taken. Not that 800-900k is cheap, but it is for a tower of this magnitude. Hell, 800k will get you a closet in my kneck of the woods, especially with super tall residential towers.

If we all pitch in, we can buy a nice unit. One for 6 million. Just divide the keys and alloted time by how many buyers. So do 365 days / "X" amount of buyers. That will determine how much time we can spend in the tower per year. We'll all split the HOA and taxes/fees. Common guys, lets do it!!!

those bands seriously ruin it. Was it ever said/speculated why they went with the black?

Seriously, I love this building and it was so close to being a master piece but those black bands are an epic fail that really detracts from the rest of the building. It looks like a document where portions have been redacted. I fear it may get the nickname redacted tower.

Well, Lake Point Tower has an unusually short floor-to-floor height.

Speaking of floors, Vista has 101 floors from the ground, but 95 floors from street level. Somehow the Diagrams page uses the latter number. Would one of the admins please change that to 101 floors? Chicago is one of the only two cities in the world to have three buildings with at least 100 floors. Would be nice to highlight that on the Diagrams page. Thanks.

Yeah it looks like they were done by someone that didn't know what they were doing. I keep thinking that the finished product will be very different than what it is now. Otherwise it's a mixture of a love for the building while also cringing at the black bars.

I don't mind the black bands that stretch across the entirety of the south face; it's the half-length bands on the 2nd tier that drive me crazy. If the black louvers are necessary, then the better design solution would have been to stay consistent and extend the band all the way across. Maybe that would have blocked off habitable units, who knows.

^ The black bands would be sick if they went all the way around, but seriously the 2nd tier gives me some advanced OCD.

To carry the comparison farther,

If Vista had the average floor height of the Richard J. Daley Center (a building which, in many ways, is an extraordinarily impressive expression of skyscraper

modernism), a quick comparison leads me to believe it would probably be the 5th tallest building in the world. If Sears had the same increase in floor to ceiling

average, it would be the world's 2nd tallest.

The fact that they have the oddly spaced fencing (not the write word, the non-structurally required support beams seen above) in place makes me think there is still some improvement coming.

Why does everyone want to hide everything - it's a blow through hole - celebrate that, trying to deny it will just wind up looking cheap or silly.

Just as mech floors don't have balconies - blow through holes are meant to blow.

I'm very curious what homework assignment this might be... but according to their website, they project move-ins to begin this year, whatever that means.
