Yea, that area is ripe for a grocery store. A Trader Joes or Sprouts would be perfect.

3rd & Peachtree (Fox yellow lot) would be prime, as it’s closer towards the concentration of housing rather than offices. There’s the publix on north ave, but there is a mile+ gap between it and the publix in midtown. I’m also curious what retail may come to North Ave TOD.

Some planning permit updates from August:

21 Daniel street, rezoning for residential (MR-4-A). This is near Edgewood and Boulevard, within the Beltline overlay. Currently an open lot.

1235 Chattahoochee Ave, Proposed multi-family development with 267 units and parking structure. This project is one component of a larger I-Mix project called "The Works."

Bye bye Buckhead Cheesecake Factory.

515 Moreland, ordinance to rezone 515, 531, 537 Moreland SE (NC-2-C) for mixed use. This is for the East Atlanta Village Neighborhood Commercial District.

930 Kirkwood, rezoning for "Redevelopment into various residential building types." This is Stein steel, directly along the Beltine right where it turns south from Wiley street. Huge opportunity; will be interesting to see what they have planned here.

2199 Lenox, 32 townhomes.

3650 Peachtree Dunwoody, new hotel.

1308 Glenwood Ave, new brewery

The Moreland Ave one above actually has pretty widespread community support. This project is impacted by the in-progress re-alignment of Glenwood Ave across Moreland. It's currently offset by about 100 ft, resulting in a cluster-frack at every traffic light signal change. The re-alignment is supposed to provide beltline connectivity from EAV to the beltline crossing of Glenwood Ave at Glenwood Park.

Would love for something sizable at Stein Steel, but who knows!

Figure it won’t be long before we see more proposals along the east side of that stretch of the BeltLine.

In-progress, as in construction has started? I've been hearing about this for a decade now and can't wait for that simple fix to finally happen.

The Cheetah Strip Club Under Contract To Be Sold To Developer

Quote:
Chicago developer CA Ventures has agreed to buy The Cheetah for more than $30M, sources familiar with the transaction tell Bisnow. The Cheetah, which Thrillist once ranked as the best strip club in Georgia, will continue to operate at the location for an undetermined period of time after the sale closes, which is scheduled to occur within the next two months, sources said.

CA Ventures Chief Investment Officer Nishant Bakaya declined to comment. Bisnow reached out to The Cheetah owner Bill Hagood through his attorney, Schulten Ward Turner & Weiss partner Kevin Ward, who declined to comment. In a July 27 email, The Cheetah Vice President Jack Braglia denied that the property was under contract.

“The rumors never cease regarding our property,” Braglia wrote at the time. He didn't return messages seeking comment Thursday.

The Cheetah, at 887 Spring St. in the heart of Midtown, has been lusted after by developers for years. The property is entitled for high-density commercial development, according to city records. The fair market value of the property is $1.28M, according to Fulton County Tax Commissioner records.

Also, the value of the property by the city is such a joke.

Cheetah Site

I really want to get excited about the potential for such a lucrative site like the Cheetah property, but Atlanta tends to get some rather mediocre proposals for some of the best sites.

Well obviously with our luck it’ll be not one, but two student housing towers!

Yeah, tell me about it...we've been waiting years and years and years and....

But yes, ground has been broken. Utilities are being relocated, a new curb is constructed east of Moreland on the south side of Glenwood, and cones, barriers, pavement markings, and orange fence-wrapped trees everywhere.

I said I'd be six feet under before this project completed and I hope I'm proving myself wrong.

Anyone know what's the meaning of new logo on top of the former Bell South/AT&T highrise presently owned by Carl Icahn?

Wow! So the rumors were true.
This and the FDA property were two sites that once seemed to potentially be resistant to being developed for a while and now both of them could be in play in the next few years.

Wow the moreland project is going to be freakin' excellent! I live a couple blocks away and have been waiting for this one.

The building was one of the first Kroger locations in the city in the early 1900s!

A concrete pour was taking place this morning at 14th and Spring. Hopefully we'll see signs of a crane soon.
