I like that Eastern Freeways posted a video of the A20 bypass of Rimouski. Even if it's a super-2, I do like this section alot, especially for its seaside views! (Not vislble in this video...)

I can't believe I've been a member of Skyscraperpage since 2005 already! :O
I’m still waiting for photos or videos of A85 construction near St Antonin and/or St Honoré de Témiscouata from you, Tone or EasternFreeway, but I guess EasternFreeway’s more Rimouski-based.
I mean, whenever the provincial boundaries are reopened to all sorts of travel, that is.

It's not that far away from me...about 2hrs. I ''might'' head that way in the coming weeks before I am starting school on late august.

My gf is driving back "up" from Gaspé tomorrow. If you ask nicely enough maybe I can convince her to stop and take pics of whatever it is that you want.

The more, the merrier.

In all seriousness though, MTQ started blasting rocks at the end of A85 3 weeks ago. I wonder how that goes now.

I passed through mid June and was held back in traffic due to blasting. I'd love to see what progress has been made now.

I drived on Route 185 between Rivière-du-Loup and St-Louis-du-Ha!-Ha! Today and there is alot of activity along this road for the future A85. On a total of 40km, there is roughly between 50 and 75% of road under construction that is already visible. Also, I noticed many licenses from Ontario. Are they allowed to visit their families in the maritimes yet or are they just on vacation here?. Finally, even if I believe that some sections of the future A85 will be quite nice, I think that the most impressive parts are already built south of St-Louis-du-Ha!-Ha!.
Expect some pictures.

Yes, you can travel to NB to visit family, with 14 days isolation. You can also travel there if you own property there.

Besides the 'Atlantic Bubble'......residents of these Quebec communities can now enter New Brunswick without isolation: Avignon Municipal Regional County, Listuguj First Nation and Temiscouata Municipal Regional County. But a bit different from residents of the Atlantic Bubble. These Quebec residents can only do a same day visit.....no overnight stays.

"Effective Saturday, August 1, residents of the Avignon Municipal Regional County, Listuguj First Nation and the Temiscouata Municipal Regional County who travel into New Brunswick as part of same-day travel only with no overnight stays will not need to self-isolate when they enter New Brunswick"

On GTA West Corridor...
The City of Brampton wants it as an urban boulevard while MTO wants it as a freeway (for trucks).
Why isn’t MTO telling the City to back off already?!

Yeah, the Lac Temiscouata section is my favourite part of the A85 by far.

The whole 1.5 hour drive from St-Louis du Ha-Ha! through to Grand Falls NB is very nice.

Was my favourite stretch as well. There used to be a rest area(maybe still is, been a long time since we were up there) and I remember it was bright daylight at 5am at the end of one June when we stopped for a pee break. I practically caught my breath when I came out of the washroom building and saw how beautiful the view over the lake was. Nowadays I would have had my phone on me and taken a picture lol

The 407 on a Sunday afternoon is about as busy as that Calgary area freeway on a Saturday morning. Surely they're losing money now?

Instead of building a proper expressway between Guelph and Kitchener, why can't highway 7 continue as a 4 lane road between East Breslau and the Honda dealership - a 7km extension? Then raise the speed limit to 90.

Thanks for the great Autoroute 20 vid FrAnKs,

I"m curious.......if someone drives from downtown Montreal to downtown Quebec, is it faster to take the north shore autoroute or the south shore?

Boy the age-old debate

It really depends...A20 is generally busier, but if you are leaving Montreal from the south shore, I would recommend taking the A20.

Google gives (without traffic):

262km for the 20 (2h 34min)
270km for the 40 (2h 46min)

I'd wager if you're coming from downtown Montreal, the advantage of getting out of the city more quickly via the 10/30/20 route and avoiding Trois Rivieres might give you a more reliable advantage. In low/no traffic, it would be a wash. Mostly on which route you could get away with more speeding.

Change the start point to Le Plateau and it might be a different story.
