I noticed Air Canada has used the A321 on YOW-YVR / YVR-YOW flights since Aug 1 and seems like they intend to keep that moving forward!

We'll see how much of this schedule becomes a reality come November/December. I know we're not allowed to handle transatlantic flights anytime soon (restricted for months now to the big 4), but what about sun routes?

A 321, wow! Here's AC's YOW August schedule:
YHZ: Daily CR9 (no op 13AUG)
YUL: 3x DH3
YYZ: 6x weekdays (5x E75, 1x 320), 4x days 67 (2x E75 (3x day 7), 1x 320, 1x 321 (day 6 only))
YYC: 1x 319
YVR: 1x 321 on weekdays (as identified by MountainView above), 1x 320 AND 1x 319 on weekends!

At this point, the following routes are shown as coming back in September after Labour Day (take this and the next part with a huge grain of salt):
YEG: 1x 320
YWG: 2x CR9
YQB: 1x DH3
DCA: 2x CRJ
BOS: 2x CRJ
EWR: 3x CRJ
LHR: 1x (333 from 01 to 07SEP & 788 08SEP onward) - I looked at seat maps and while only a partial indicator, they're practically empty. Most I saw over 10 days was 20 seats booked. Would be subject to gov't approval to boot!

...and the following increases:
YYC: to 2x (this is the only one that is somewhat believable)
YUL: to 8x (all Express)
YVR: to 4x
YHZ: to 5x (all Express)
YYZ: to 17x (includes 6x E75)

I checked the first few Sundays in August and it is an A319 and A321! (probably to have the 321 here for Monday's flight to YVR)

I believe all of Sept is still a placeholder unfortunately. It would be nice to see YWG come back at 1x daily or the morning and evening departure to YYC. I can't see anything else returning in September. Maybe 6-7x YYZ increase.

I hope LHR is back for summer 2021.

Seems like it is at least not back in Sept/Oct which means, as we mentioned, it won't be back this year

Sept / Oct Atlantic AC schedule

I received an email from Air Canada Vacations about their November to April travel period and discounts if I book now.

It seems like they will be offering direct flights from YOW to the Caribbean/Mexico.

I don't have time right now to look through them all, but Cancun is definitely there: AC1770/1771.

I suppose closer to the date they could always cancel the flight and route people through YYZ if necessary.

The Canadian government would have to open YOW + the others to international arrivals though? My understanding is YOW can accept US inbound flights but not from anywhere else? (I know we have no US service right now but there is nothing stopping them if they so choose to?)

If these are on Rouge 319s, it's a dummy schedule at this point. If it's alternative equipment, it's more likely to be real.

That looks impressive, including a set of rollers underneath to presumably return the empty bins to the front of the line. That should save time for passengers and remove the distraction of CATSA staff of needing to return empties to the front every few minutes.

I went through CATSA plus screening last year in Montreal, it was definitely faster and a more streamlined process.

Thank god for automatic bin returns. First experienced this life-changing event in Stockholm, where they have wood finished/IKEA looking security equipment, with a computerized one-at-a-time bin spitter, and a completely hidden return mechanism.

The old way is archaic.

Air Canada has started to update it's September schedules and there are a few minor changes for YOW.

I am still taking this with a grain of salt though.

Changes:
YHZ 2x day
YUL 3x day
YVR 2x day

No change:
YYZ 5x day
YYC 1x day

Nothing else to report. If I have some time I'll see what aircraft they are planning to use.

Westjet should probably be updating theirs soon one would think. I'm not sure what they would change with YOW though. Maybe put YHZ 5x week and make YYC daily.
