Norwood Tower is by far my favorite building in this city (excluding capitol)

The gold windows were aging badly and had stains along the edges. Not to mention the glare it produced for drivers on I35 in the morning. While I too preferred the gold, it did make the building look taller and slimmer imo, it was looking pretty old close up when they made the change. I don't like the current clunky topper. BoA tower, timeless simplicity, one of my favorites. Indeed tower, iconic and will probably age well.

Norwood, totally agree lonewolf. Its an iconic blast from the past that helps define a city.

It has ~4 floors left, maybe three. It should top out in late september if I had to guess, maybe later depending on the crown structure.

The parking garage Next to the Norwood Tower was converted into the Capitol National Bank I think sometime in the 1950s.
My Dad worked there in 1959 after he retired from the US Army. The bank building now houses Perry’s restaurant.

Has anyone heard that Indeed is backing out of this project? Heard there was a recent internal announcement that they were no longer moving forward with occupying the space.

I heard the same rumor. I guess we'll know if they rename the tower. Teachers Retirement System is definitely out. They are advertising their preleased space for sublease already: https://www.cushmanwakefield.com/en/...33s120247595-l

Also heard from another Indeed employee that they are planning to go back to the office in July 2021, so no time soon. Sounds like a shift in how they plan to occupy office space going forward, based on what I've heard. As in, they already have enough office presence around town, so why take on more space when things have changed so drastically with the trend toward remote work. Honestly, I had been worried about Indeed prior to even hearing they weren't occupying the space mainly due to them not going back to the office until at least mid next year. So, this isn't too surprising to me at this point.

Anyways, if Tesla was looking to move sooner rather than later to Austin this seems like a way to make a big splash and lease up this entire building that is a lot nearer completion than any other building in downtown.

If this Indeed rumor is true, I'm very much hoping that Google doesn't pull out of Block 185 too. Though, a building lease for a trillion dollar company is basically pennies so I guess we should be less worried but I wouldn't imagine they got that valuable by wasting their money if they deemed the space not necessary any longer.

I think there will be companies looking to expand from the coasts that want to position themselves for the recovery (long play, but will happen)with cheaper rent, cheaper labor, and lower taxes.

Cities aren’t dead, they will slowly return. Companies with sexy new offices will still attract young, single grads. Companies that position themselves for this eventuality will be sought after employers. Not to mention, it’s not just people leaving the coasts, I think this will accelerate companies moving too.

This gets scooped up by the time it’s complete if Indeed backs out, is my guess.

I too heard the rumor this weekend from an employee, that they had "stopped construction", which I do not believe, but I would believe they are backing out of their lease/ not moving forward with occupying the space.

I can see part of this project from my office building downtown. The crane was moving and grooving all day.
