Think this supertall "half pencil" proposal from a month or so ago was not posted yet.

Foreshadowing the "half pencil"?: 1200 Bay got me to thinking about Pei's 1972 CommerceCourtWest... remember reading about the international attention the tower received from
architects and engineers (lots of it related to height-width ratios).
Though down right chubby compared to 1200 Bay, think maybe it deserves some props foreshadowing extreme height/width ratios nearly a half century ago.

The previously height-challenged Church Street corridor is changing fast - this one is a 202 metre
Rental building. Soil sampling hints it’s a go.

MIDRISE MAYHEM

I love the mid-rise clutter east of the core (home to St. James Cathedral, St. Lawrence Market etc.). This photo is but a slice of the facelift underway.
Dozens of new builds, many which incorporate logical elements of yellow, orange, red (even black) brick cladding. Lots of it is brick veneer but lots of it “actual bricks”… who knew that humanoid bricklayers still exist.
Black brick veneer on the 158 Front East podium you see u/c in the pic above.
