Guess you haven't flown on the London Route with BA in the last few years since they brought their A380 in the summer.

I believe BA was the only one with scheduled A380 service to YVR pre-covid. And likely will be only one, ever with the way things are going. We have, CZ KE LH and BA with their fleets still that serve YVR?

While I do understand why 747 is a legendary plane and beautiful from outside, I don't miss the ride on one. Both Lufthansa and British Airways 747s flying here have been very worn out planes. I have never been on a 747-8 so not sure how that compares.

I will however miss A380 as it is a great and impressive plane to be on. I hope that we will see those still flying here in the future.

Regarding the parkade, is that a normal way of building one? I am not sure I understand how they are building it.

I think it's just a set of precast posts and beams.
The cast-in-place slabs would be for the stairwells.

North America does not have many 747s now, and even less A380s at their airports. Always a treat flying to Asia or Europe and seeing the big birds on the parking aprons of the major airports.

Took BA's A380 from YVR before: smoothest ride ever as the plane just glided through air turbulence like a sharp heated knife going through butter. The economy seat was also wider than regular North American plane coach seats, which made it all the more comfortable for the 9-hour non-stop flight to and from Heathrow. The plane usually comes in around 6 till 7pm, and is a sight to behold at the Arthur Glen Outlet mall, that is, if plane-spotting is your thing.

Latest changes for service to YVR for Chinese airlines

CZ increase CAN service to 2x weekly A388... effective immediately
MU to restart NKG, 1x weekly A330... effective Aug 4

Also, seems like AC plan to increase PVG service to 2x weekly starting Sept. The 1x weekly flight to PVG had been approved. Equipment change to 400-seat 77W.

YVR to become Flair’s biggest operating base with their new schedule just released... new routes to YXS YMM YXE YQR and YYJ. Looks like they’re still trying to find their feet.

I think it might be because the current Flair strategy to have 1-stop service serving 3 airports to try to maximize load on aircraft. YVR just happen to be at the western-most major airport so every plane have to go here.

Sure, but no nonstop flights between YVR and YYZ where previously they flew daily. Wait a couple more months and they will probably spin the wheel again. Their strategies so far don’t seem to be working as evidenced by their constant changes.

WestJet is cancelling YVR-LAX from August 7 until at least September 4.

I'm still so reluctant to post any forward schedules as they are changing faster than the tides.

In any event looks like Delta and Alaska are increasing YVR-SEA to 3 daily each starting next week.

Looks like approximately 13-14 flights per day Transborder from YVR in July (about half to SEA).

I've moved my focus to just monthly, so for right I'd only be looking at August and not really beyond. But even then, changes continue to be made just a week out.

3U to increase CTU service to 2x weekly... effective Aug 14
MF also have plan to increase to 2x weekly.. new flights are scheduled but currently not open for reservation.
