Those two are absolute turds, and look okay from a distant...but up close are nauseating. The intersection suffers greatly as well....

Great shot of Montreal there, those airplane shots are always pretty neat.

I'm not sure which of them looks worse but the intestine tower is definitely hard to digest.

I prefer the 'intestine' condo to about 70% of Toronto's 100m+ buildings... although that's not saying much. The pattern won't appeal to many but the design is simple. I would have preferred all white or all black though. It's free of balconies which is a big plus aesthetically and like that it has unapologetic colour. I'm getting very tired of beige, grey, beige, grey, beige, and then more grey. It's a welcomed break from the endless stream of all glass towers and others that are overloaded with mullions.... like that mess across the street. I wouldn't want a slew of these but like having 1 to break up the monotony of it all. It does look better from a distance and like that I can pick it out from Leslie Spit.

These views won't be popular here, would prefer better materials of course, but have lowered my expectations since moving here. Design is steadily getting better in Toronto so try to focus on that.

I don't dislike the intestine tower, though I prefer its fraternal twin. As mentioned by isaidso, they break the monotony of the skyline. I would prefer if the intestine side had the same pattern as the narrow side.

Disclaimer: I've never seen these from up close (or at all before this image AFAIK).

Those are some gorgeous images of both Edmonton and Calgary. Remarkable how wide Edmonton's skyline is...and continues to shape up. It's also impressive how Calgary's growth in terms of new multi-unit buildings continues unabated through the years. Those twins UC are huge! I thought they were the West Villages towers, but I forgot about the other twins....or triplets they might be.

I do appreciate the 'intestinal' tower differentiates itself from other buildings in the city, and is notable and identifiable as a result, along with being a rectangle...not just a square floorplate, but the street level is such an afterthought. Unfortunately the other two towers on the other corners of the intersection do just as poor of a job and create an uninviting experience as a pedestrian IMO. At least there's retail....not that there shouldn't be.

I hate this tower. It's wallpaper. Not only is it a cheap trick at structural design, they couldn't even be bothered to extend the punch windows around the narrow ends of the tower. I do recall it being well received on urbantoronto.ca.

The behemoth on the north side reverses the floor plan for the upper half from the bottom half. This happens far too frequent because, IMO, I think its ugly as sin. Maybe its me. Do people like it more when they do this opposed to not doing it? I don't care for the rotated floor plan on Ice either and those towers are pretty damn good by Toronto/Canadian standards.

I love this facade

I find these views go hand in hand with popular opinion. I feel urbantoronto, in particular, has given up on the overall scope in design and materials and instead cherrypicks small victories in patterns, colours and, balconies that break up the monotony in mediocrity. I'd replaced this with a quality, glass, Clewes box from 5 to 10 years ago in a heartbeat. How the skyline looks from afar (Toronto Island) isn't very impressionable to me.

I actually find it better close up from street level because the intestine pattern isn't as apparent while the materials are a step up from some other recent projects. In that sense it's sort of the inverse of Aura which can look cool from a distance but from street level is total cringe. Personally my least favourite condo buildings from the last 20 years are the Pinnicle trio in Southcore and the nearby residences at the world trade centre. Also the residential towers on the south side of Front between BJW and Spadina. Also, the two original ROCP towers.

Could someone provide a Google Street View of the intestine building? I'm curious what it looks like from ground level.
