Knowing what we know based on the last 40+ years of this kind of thing, they are basically waiting on a change in provincial governments to get the money and a green light to build.

99% sure this is dead - tho it was a fantasy to believe it would all happen in the first place.
I really love the 1960's, mid century modern, utopian type plans like that. It sure would've been interesting if it was actually built out. That being said, it's obviously nice to have maintained the current building stock that is out there. Even though the area is still underutilized.

It’s weird that the Pantages developers find that wedge of land so lucrative that they are going through this dance. Main Street is filled with parking lots. What makes this place so special? It will be a cool building I’m sure. Will be interested to see who is bank rolling the theatre renovation. If WSO had the money a year ago they would have gotten the building outright.

The purchase price of the land? $530,000 seems like a steal.

I noticed some giant corten steel beams sitting in front of Warehouse 1885 on Princess yesterday. Should be going on the facade by now.

For them to acquire 15,000ft2 of land at Main and Market for 500k ($35ft2) is actually a very good buy. Having completed 1885 a much more challenging site, a full new build in the area will in fact be easier. I wish them well on this site. Just please not another black clad building!

The base of them were installed earlier this week, they've been slowly building them all week.

I've been having a hard time trying to visualize what they have in mind. Are they talking about the space currently occupied by the modern addition to the theatre? Is that going to be torn down and replaced with the housing?

I believe they are having some MB Hydro issues. No idea as to what, but...

Lots of projects in Waverly west are moving along quite nicely.
Ironclad is going full throttle on its “Bravado” mixed use building right next to save-on. While PPP seems to be speeding up on “The District”, on the south tip of Bridgwater Centre, the second 7 storey “The Rise” building by street side is also moving along.
Further south, “Murano Gardens” in South Pointe is looking pretty good too.
Also looks like there’s some roadwork going for the commercial designated land in south / prairie pointe at Kenaston and Waverly.
The mormon temple seems almost finished as well.
All together it seems the area will be looking much more dense within a year or two. .

^ Haven't had too close of a look at the Mormon Temple but from the glimpse I got it looks like a pretty nice building. Most newer houses of worship just look like big box stores, but that one is definitely a cut above that sort of thing.

There's still construction going on every day. Trucks on site today. So still ongoing work in the existing building.

Yeah, you can tell a generous chunk of cash has been spent there.
I’m most looking forward to the very nice landscaping they have been working on, lots of trees, shrubbery and what looks like big planters for flowers.

Not sure the name of that project but it is 100% not Murano Gardens which is a two building condo development on Wilkes across from the Caboto Centre.

Speaking of Waverley West, and I know it's been discussed before but I biked through the area last week and, except for I believe one business, each and every commercial occupant in the faux-town center (https://www.google.com/maps/@49.7984...7i13312!8i6656) has blocked off the pedestrian-side "front" entrance and asks you to go around to the "back" entrance facing the parking lot.

I mean, even the anchor spots (https://www.google.com/maps/@49.7984...7i13312!8i6656) with a bit more of a grand entrance are just the back fire exit, it's so depressing!
