Sorry folks, no photos permitted at this time. I had exclusive permission to take aerial drone photos and video of the site for the Moncton Heritage Group and the Moncton Museum. The city project manager asked not the publish the photos due to site security.

@Sunnybrae, you appear to be correct. I do see a smaller version of the turntable foundation, which is bout 60% exposed and the other appears bigger but only about 10% exposed.

One would think that before building a 40 million dollar building you would do extensive geotech testing of the soils and would have been aware of these structures, especially in light of the history of the area. I wonder what other surprises they may find deeper.

False alarm. (Of course)

Maybe not a false alarm totally. But I thought that when I saw the backhoe there, it meant that they'd at least be starting the site preparation. When I drove by the property today, it was empty, and there was no equipment left on site. I probably shouldn't have gotten too excited.

Maybe they were doing a soil test or something like that.

I wonder if they were removing the footings of the billboards that stood on that site for many years?

I don't think so. They were farther away from Main Street, closer to the middle of the lot. Black pick-up truck pulling a trailer with a backhoe on it. Two guys standing there talking. That was Thursday. I was thinking that finally we might see some activity on this property.

I'm guessing that's your aerial footage and maybe even your still shots I'm seeing posted all over the place online. If so, the cat's kinda out of the bag now I'm afraid. If not yours, then someone's not living up to their end of your exclusivity agreement.

Do you have a link to the photos?

The video and the stills are both on BuzzLocalTV
I am told that there are stills also on the T&T's web site but I cannot vouch for this because I no longer have a subscription.
I have seen one or more stills on Facebook and I'm trying to find those again.

I only took still photos for the museum and Moncton Heritage. No videos. What they do with the photos is up to them. I was actually on site with a city manager and one of the site managers. The ask not to publish, I honor that request. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only person who owns a drone in Moncton.

If I could see those photos out there, I would know right away if they are mine.

I see they are resurfacing part of Main in this area. Going to look nice once done. However, I hope they do the same on Highfield st from Main to Gordon to compliment the entrances to Crown Plaza and Hilton Garden.

And looking towards the East, what a mess! They really need to remove that bike lane and roll back on that idea.

And while hovering 30m above the Times & Transcript parking lot, I panned over to the left to capture a couple of downtown views.

The back side of the subway block looks terrible. Then again, the front looks pretty bad too.

You should see the inside. Last time I was in there, the floors were as sloped as that roof looks. Of course, that was 17 years ago. I can’t imagine how it looks today.

Edit:

Even the building next to it looks terrified! lol

On a recent Dawn Arnold Facebook post, there was a gentleman who made a comment stating, "rumors have it that something similar and really, really exciting is coming to the L.O.L. building on St. George St.

I'm not sure what L.O.L. building is but is anyone aware of 'exciting' development at this site.
