It's exclusive to that angle. I could be wrong, the white building was once planned to be a modern version of the existing building.

What's wrong with that picture? I mean, it's a great picture but I would have thought it was real and then I thought it was Google Earth and now I'm really not sure at all.

That one little grey tower in the middle is rendered. The rest seems to be real though.

Side note: that's the neighbourhood I'll be staying at in a few months. I can see "my" building in the foreground.

(fingers crossed for no 2nd wave in the meantime...)

the Main Street area has added a 🞵🞵🞵🞵 load of new buildings in the last couple of years and as MonkeyRonin said that one building is a render.

With Skytrain arriving in the area in a few years the area has become a hot property zone.

That’s correct; the little building in the foreground is a rendering for a proposal. The rest, of course, is real. The photo is a context shot from the application to the city.

I see a middle has rapidly expanded between now and before SEFC. It's still linear and drops off too quickly

It's not great. Like WS said there has been many proposals for that site and they finally choose that one. At least it's not trying too much to call attention to itself.

The middle is the only thing I was writing about. Not the Heck family. An urban area with transitional heights and densities between typical post war, car dependant neighborhoods and downtown.

I can't stand that elongated battery looking public art. Actually, it looks like a statue of a pair of those wiggly inflatable things you'd see in an auto dealership.

I would HATE to have it blocking my views. I think the installation moves with the wind. What else could be the inspiration?

Just googled it. The artist intended the piece to move but it didn't survive through value engineering lol
