I guess we will find out soon. The flight is listed on both Flightaware and FlightRadar 24. However, both aren’t always accurate.

Speaking of PPT though there were 2 departures on TN today.

Also 3 China Southern departures - 2 to CAN and 1 to SHE.

Appears that LH has restarted FRA-YVR 3 flights per week on 333s.

KLM also restarting this week to AMS.

So YVR to Europe slowly ramping up with to LHR on AC, AMS on KL and FRA on LH recommenced. And perhaps AF to CDG. However, BA looks like it is now pushed to 1 August. So it won’t all be Asia and South Pacific.

Transborder also ramping up in July (borders RE-opening??):

AC daily to LAX, SFO, DEN and SEA and 2 weekly to LAS.
UA twice daily to SFO
DL three times daily to SEA
AS daily to SEA
AA daily to DFW (upgauged to a 321)
WS 4 weekly to LAX

Little point in projecting too far ahead as changes keep occurring often.

Much like TN, Air France is starting to operate CDG-PPT flights with a technical stop in YVR.

CDG-YVR and YVR-PPT aren't for sale.

Much like TN, seems AF doesn't want its crews laying over in LAX. California is a COVID hot stop at the moment. 255,000 cases and climbing, fast.....

And AF 74 is now on its way CDG-YVR. Good catch ninjakafi.

That’s 4 transatlantic flights today with AF joining TN, AC and LH.

A very busy YVR for intl traffic earlier today with over 20 widebodies in the air to/from YVR at the same time. KE flew in a 789 earlier as well.

Starting July 15, French Bee will also route their PPT flights through Vancouver. They also applied charter license for taking passengers between Tahiti and Canada, and between Canada and France. Wonder if they will open the flights up for reservation?

Melbourne has seen Covid cases spike up recently, so likely no time soon.

Not only are they removing border restrictions, they're adding restrictions across states within Australia proper. Gonna be a long time

If Air France isn't even selling CDG-YVR, I highly doubt French Bee will. As for Canada-PPT, forget about that too. French Polynesia is opening up to all tourists on July 15, but have you seen all the restrictions for passengers?

All the demand to/from PPT is to mainland France. Hence the flights. Don't expect Canada-PPT. As I said a while ago, If YVR didnt get PPT flights before COVID, they sure as shit ain't getting them after.

airlineroute also confirming that neither of the 3 airlines operating Paris-YVR-PPT will be carrying local traffic to/from YVR. But the wording they use isn't correct. AF and TN do have local traffic rights. They just aren't exercising them.

If they do not intend to load/unload passenger in Canada, why would they even bother to apply for permission? AFAIK, they don't need to apply if they are simply using YVR as a fuel stop. TN never applied for the right to operate in Canada using their own metal (they only have the right for code-share).

Unless... they intend to operate a separate Paris-Canada-Tahiti charter flight? This seems even less likely.

I don’t know. Why did AF apply for YVR-PPT in July 2019 and then didn’t do anything with it?

They are now flying YVR-PPT and choose not to exercise their right to carry local passengers.

Airlines do weird shit sometimes. However, it’s better to apply for something and not use it than the other way around !

Would YVR - MEL, with a stop at SYD, for YVR origin pax with ticket to one or the other, no extra "freedoms", at one frequence or another, during part of if not all the year, be feasible?

Been a big last couple of days at YVR.

The following carriers operated intl widebody flights over the last two days.

CZ MU CA MF 3U LH TN AF LH AC BR CI CX KE W8 JL NH PR and KE cargo

Check out the YVR Spotters page on FB if you can. Lots of these flights have been captured very well with some fantastic pics. Some with 2 TN 789s.

Another CZ 388 on its way and special liveries by Xiamen and Sichuan visited again.

French Bee with its few flights coming up and KL joining the regular intl flights soon.

Enjoy the spotting lucky ducks.

Sorry to break it to you but not for a while.
Pre-Covid it was swapped to northern winter seasonal which already shows it was the weakest in 3 aussie flights.

Some fantastic photos posted on the YVR Spotters page today and yesterday including quite a few with 3 Air Tahiti Nui 789s all parked next to each other. There’s a great pic of the 3 TN’s and AF, MU, JL and MF all in a row. Some good ones of the CZ 380.

LH and KL (first flight to AMS in months) and all the regular Asian carriers all in today as well.

TN has extended its YVR flights right through the end of August.

2 daily flights one in each direction.
