Sounds like Vancouver is the front runner now for Canadian cities.

Hmmmm... the least hockey-crazy place in Canada.

Unless you need a riot, maybe? They do good hockey riots here. Or at least they used to. It's been quite a few years since having anything to riot about here, hockey-wise that is.

TSN stories on instagram had Vancouver ahead of Edmonton based on how much push players will have on the chosen city. Makes sense, I love Edmonton but if I was a millionaire forced into quarantine without much sentimental value to Edmonton, I'd choose Van as well.

Given that hockey players make at least a million a year, they should be content with playing hockey in a swamp if told to do so.

they probably would be content with playing hockey in a swamp.

but they make at least a million a year because the owners make enough to pay them that. if the owners could make more money having them play in toronto or edmonton or vancouver or las vegas or a swamp (washington dc? ), that’s where they’ll play.

You are saying players will do whatever their employers tell them to do? I'm pretty sure this idea is exactly why the NHLPA was created.

The commentary was very specific on Van over Edm IF players had a say.

Funny part is they it mentioned weather as a factor... yah because Edmonton summers are cold?!

Plan for new Edmonton Prospects ballpark unveiled for Spruce Grove

by Kevin Reichard on June 16, 2020 in Summer Collegiate, Summer Collegiate News

Plan for a new Edmonton Prospects ballpark were unveiled today by parent Gold Sports and Entertainment Group, calling for a modern urban ballpark in Spruce Grove, Alberta to house the summer-collegiate team.

The ballpark for the Western Canadian Baseball League team, set for a 2022 opening, will feature a 360-degree wraparound concourse, suite, party decks and a merchandise store. Housing and a microbrewery/pun (shown below) will be located off left field, with a amphitheater located on the opposite side of the brewery.

EDM, TOR, LV and CHI appear to be the final considerations.

It pretty much needs to be Vegas. Logistically it would be best to keep everything in one country but I don't see Chicago making the cut. Edmonton makes most sense from a medical perspective but I'm sure the league is under tremendous pressure to go with Toronto. My money is on Vegas and TO.

For the first time in more than a month, sounds like Vegas is no longer a frontrunner to host an #NHL hub city. Spike in COVID-19 numbers in Vegas appears to have put a damper on their bid.

As @TSNBobMcKenzie reported, very possible both hubs cities are in Canada: TOR and EDM

Hey, I'm just happy it's ABV.

Barring any last-minute complications, and we have seen some of those (Vancouver and Las Vegas), the two NHL Hub cities will be Edmonton and Toronto.

Conal is a beauty. He used to bring our old office bags of McD cheeseburgers whenever he dropped by. Classic.
