Isn't the gravel know as "river rock"?

I think river rock is larger and is "glued" to exterior walls.

The community is called Auburn Bay and there is a man made lake with a park. In the prairies we don’t have many lakes or cabin country so in Calgary we have communities with lakes. It offers a nice respite in the summer and winter. I live nearby and have sorely missed the park space during covid-19.

That island of grass in the middle of the cul de sac is so sad.

Yes they do. If it’s like the other man made lakes they have sand on the beaches and maintenance crew that rake it every morning. As for the pastel stucco houses from the 90’s, that’s another issue altogether.

Wouldn't that where people push their snow in the winter. It serves no other purpose and there is nowhere for the homes to put it.

I like the house at the end of the cul de sac where they are trying to hide all the pick up trucks they have.

This would be right at home in Coral Gables, FL, even though it is in Coral Springs, Calgary:

A lot of these are hideous, but would actually improve the skyline here in Ottawa. The city that fun and architecture forgot. Everything we have built in the past 60 years excluding a select few has been dismal. We could use a bit of colour, even if it doesn't quite fit in.

This is why I am an advocate of the back alley system for parking, keeping vehicles in their proper place. Otherwise this is the unmanageable result.
