Hopefully new towers in this section of downtown Calgary will all be residential. Areas that have a significant resident population are fare more interesting and vibrant at street level. When it's all office they become dead zones when workers go home. The Toronto CBD was almost all office 15 years ago. Adding condo towers amongst the office towers has made a big difference. With people (after 5pm) comes retail, restaurants, and people walking about. Hopefully Calgary will do the same.
Cities should be more than nice to look at. They're so much better when they're bustling at grade at the same time.
