Yes, the three newest towers in that picture are all taller than the surrounding buildings.
I believe there are three towers currently under construction in that pic but not visible yet that will also be taller than their surroundings.

I try my best to like those new Calgary towers, and tall buildings like those make the city more interesting, but they are bland looking because they are clad in generic green condo glass. Brookfield Place looks unfinished.

"Bland" is certainly a fair criticism of Brookfield Place but I'm not sure it can be reasonably applied to Telus Sky or the Bow? I wouldn't describe any of them as being "clad in generic green condo glass". At the very least, the glass in all three buildings is far higher quality than "generic condo glass".

Could you describe the difference between the glass found on an office tower vs condo? It appears that office projects are using the same high iron glass that condos use. Office towers may have thicker glass or an extra layer of glass, but the colour looks the same. Almost all office and condo towers built today have the same colour.

Now if only our river wasn't so muddy. This shot in late August would be even better since the river runs lower and appears almost blueish.

How does the topography vary between the cities with major skylines? I have the impression that Calgary has a fairly uniform elevation in the core, but I'm not sure. Maybe same for Edmonton? The only city I know personally of course is Vancouver, where the elevation is fairly different from the peak to the water. I'm sure that affects a lot of how it's viewed, and how layered/dense things look. Vancouver has such a huge amount of highrises close together so it doesn't get the height or punctuations that make somewhere stand out, even though there's a lot there
