while interesting if true, even if it’s true you still shouldn’t be making that public (not just for him but for the rest of the owners/residents in the building).

This isn’t America. No one gives a 🞵🞵🞵🞵 where politicians live...our obsessive celebrity culture isn’t as developed... although knowing he lives there makes me like the building even less. I really like symphony up close and love the podium area townhomes, but it is awful from afar. It doesn’t matter from which angle you are viewing it it just looks cheap and half assed. My sister lives directly across the leg grounds from it and the big grey stucco fin looks awful especially from the west...it’s so close to being a nice building but just fell short...I’ve always like “One River Park” and cant figure out why the newer buildings seem to try too hard and come up short. I’m hoping CNIB will be my new fav but we’ll see...

if people do give a 🞵🞵🞵🞵 then you shouldn’t have posted it. and if, as you say, they don’t, there was/is no point in your posting it either. just as there would be no point in anyone but you posting where you live.

Calling out people for noting the building someone lives in is a bit much. If it's the unit number then that's going too far, but a general observation like that isn't an offense. The building's next to legislature grounds and Kenney's the premier, so it makes sense.

Now if he was bringing back the sky palace, that would be another matter entirely.

Kenney has probably brought back the sky palace, but in a much sneakier way -like (and this is speculation) intentionally renting the most expensive unit in the Symphony and then billing his rent back to the government. This would probably end up being more expensive than if the Government had just built that apartment in the Federal Building and offered it to premiers as their only provided option.

https://globalnews.ca/news/6946508/hudsons-bay-edmonton-city-centre-closing/

With The Bay closing that'll leave a big hole in the City Centre Mall. Any rumours as to what major department store may fill the void? Plus, are there other major retailers downtown, or elsewhere, which are on the ropes financially due directly or indirectly to the Covid and/or the slumping oil prices?

Expect a news release from the new owners/mall in the near future...

Sweet Jeebuz. Edmonton doubles down on being the archtectural laughing stock. The Venetian... this "thing"... that "library"...

I actually think we've been lucky. A lot of projects in the past 5+ years have been average to very good ( Rogers Place, JW ..excellent). The only one I find really offensive and embarrassing is the Milner library. I don't like the top east side of Stantec and the black elevator shaft covering. That strip mall reminds of something I'd see in Orlando. Not great but not unusual.

I still hope the tenant mix/programming will save this development. And maybe change the name to Amsterdam square... lol

I like the brick and I like the general idea but I wish they had gonna with realistic elevations... it turned out VERY Europa boulevard...

I did not post it, was simply commenting... and many politicians routinely post Instagram stories from near/outside their residences... not sure why you’re so fired up over nothing. Your righteousness gets tiring

you have my apology - you didn’t post it and i should have noticed that and responded accordingly.

having said that, i still don’t think it should have been posted or defended. if you think that’s just being righteous i don’t really care.

^ super excited for this one!

Not excited about Manchester/Europa boulevard though. Mind you, you could create a choo choo train connecting this development with railtown and get a partial Disney experience. Cook up some kettle corn at each location and sell some yeg branded moon balls and you'd be set.
