Love it. Putting up drones seems good, clean, legal(?) fun.

Yes great pics! You must have spent a day getting all those! Really puts into perspective how much Atlanta is growing. Likely this will be it for a while once these are complete

Hmm, I assumed it would be just office, or just office/hotel. The residential portion is intriguing. Has Portman Holdings done residential in the US? I don't see any examples on their page (https://www.portmanholdings.com/our-work/), but there are a couple of residential-only projects internationally. If this their first ever truly mixed-use development?

It was reported earlier this year that Portman is starting a residential division and would target the typical sunbelt metros in addition to Atlanta. I think they had some pretty unlucky timing with that move.

A 3 tower project? That's exciting. Can't wait to see official renderings.

Portman residential

This looks really good. Given Portman's hit and miss track record, this greatly exceeds my expectations. It will look phenomenal when viewing the Midtown skyline from the West.

Now just have to hope this is final design and there's no VE.

Portman is the developer/land owner for the site. They are not designing the residential development. Not sure if they are designing the office/hotel component.

Planning permits (multifamily land development) filed for two developments:

288 unit apartment building at 1634 Hollywood, in NW Atlanta.

Seven townhomes in Buckhead at 3519 Roxboro Rd.

I'll say again that I'm really surprised at how many projects continue to move forward, and in particular, continue to be announced in this awful economy. While some of the projects likely were already financed and "had" to break ground, that's certainly not the case for every project. It definitely feels like developers see this slowdown as a temporary distraction and that 12-18 months from now we'll be back to growth.
