To this day, I still hate the three block long 'mega' podium for Stationlands.

Although I do prefer our current arena design to this, the activation of the area north of the current RAM and CN Tower would've been great for the existing 'no man's land' that Qualico still owns between 97 and 100 Streets.

If this design was selected for the arena, I wonder where the RAM would've gone. Remain at the existing Glenora location?

Yeah didn't like the design or location.

Like CMD said that podium was massively to massive!

Our current location for all of ICE hit the nail on the head.

to be fair, the three block long 'mega' podium for station lands (which was a response to the post office as much as anything else) disappeared more than a decade ago when the ram committed to that site.

the potential for even better north/south connectivity through the post office site and to 97th street was declined by ram, not station lands.

as an early and ongoing supporter of the ice district, the location of some of ice's components hit the nail on the head. others less so.

from an urban design perspective for pedestrians, i would still take the proposed streetscape and transparency for station lands' initial podium proposal for 105 avenue over the ice district's execution at grade for just about everything north of 104 avenue including 104 avenue...

Has anyone heard any updates on the Falcon project(s)? Their social media seems quiet, and I totally forgot about it until today.

^DP approved, BP was either in... or soon to be... but who knows what this has done to timelines.

He was very bullish though.

The development permit for Tower 1 is still being reviewed, but is near the end of that process. Once the DP has been approved, a building permit should (hopefully) be submitted shortly after, which is when we'd see some actual construction activity begin.

perhaps... although in today's climate and market those days might still have a pretty big number attached.

We already have a Drake Hotel, located in Beverly. If we want to re-create the TO staple, that would be the place to do it!
