and why a circle? everything about the building’s architecture is horizontal and straight edges.

if they wanted to be really creative or edgy, it should have been a QR code that could have been scanned from any phone in the river valley or from any phone next to any picture of the river valley that includes the convention centre...

I could be wrong, but I believe it is a poem in either cree or Morris Code... or something of that nature. A design element and art piece in one.

That view will be even better once the Muttart Lands / Stadium Yards are fully built out and the Stadium LRT upgrades are completed.

Unfortunately the city-owned lands along 111 Ave just north of the LRT park and ride are highly contaminated, so it will be a while until anything happens there.

^Those plates look so awful, i've never been able to look past them. Once they decided that they weren't going to weld the joints, i wish they'd 'design' the plates a bit better so at least they'd look intentional - for instance, fold over the edge instead of stopping short, and make it look like part of the design. Right now they look like bandaids.

Otherwise nice bridge that has really refreshed Edmonton's face.

Awesome angle! A nice 160 - 190m tower on Regency's BMO site would fill in that shot very nicely to help balance the height of the Ice District towers.
