On the site of the Hollyburn Properties building on Alberni, from RENX twitter.

1650 Alberni
Designed by SOM.

Landa Global Properties founder Kevin Cheung says there will be no 'cookie-cutter' designs for his Metro Vancouver developments (including world's tallest proposed Passive House project). https://renx.ca/landa-global-vancouver-richmond-developments/ #realestate #MetroVan #VanRE

Damn, that stretch of towers would look amazing had they gone ahead. I mean Kuma is, but doubt the other two.

Does anyone know what's been going on outside Bentall Two? They're working on the outside plaza and it's been covered over for some time.

I heard that they were adding a restaurant to the corner closest to JOEY. Might have been a Hawksworth restaurant but can't remember.

I think it's a Toptable restaurant.

I think that's across the street at Five Bentall Centre (if this is correct)

I think it's a typo in the article. Unless Cactus Club is closing.

It doesn't look like it's a typo. Maybe they're going to do something with the space the coffee shop occupies? Or you're right, Cactus Club could be heading out. Or Toptable don't know where they're opening!

New concept could be in the smaller cafe space or could be a take-out place like the Tractor in Park Place next door (on-line ordering only).
There's also a medical clinic that could be moving out too.

Royal Dinette closed next door to Bentall 5 maybe they took that space? But that just got announced in mid-March.

(I guess this should all be moved into the Restaurant thread)

401 West Georgia

Pic by me Apr 13th.
They added a flashing to the top of the granite.
That helps tie it in to the new mullions.

I have to say that I have been wondering the same. Is this somehow connected to the new Amazon building on Dunsmuir?

I guess they thought it would be hard to rent out the space as is.

The bank moved out. The building needed a major makeover to repurpose it. From the time and effort they took on covering the plaza area to the east of the former bank while they worked on it, there may have been some issues with the waterproofing as well. I assume the parkade is underneath the whole site.

Yeah, all the trees on the plaza are gone. I assume the 2 remaining ones are on the setback, so no garage under them.
