^ Thanks for those pictures. I've heard of Black Creek Pioneer Village, but I have never been and up to now, I don't even recall seeing pictures of it. It looks impressive though... I didn't notice any signs of the surrounding metropolis at all.

I think it's in a bit of a valley as well and they have done a good job by the looks of it to create a decent green buffer around it.

They do a pretty good job of "enclaving" the Pioneer Village off so that you hardly notice its almost adjacent to the 401 and in very close proximity to the Jane & Finch area, which is full of older residential highrises. It's an interesting juxtaposition of a recreated historical area surrounded by some of the most modernist urban planning you can find.
