I noticed walking by the Republic building that they appear to be building a new (retail?) entrance on the Van Buren side. I think I remember a blurb about a Starbucks or something going there?

Ah yes, thanks. I knew it was something coffee. Snapped a quick, but blurry pic. Will be nice to see a tad bit of retail on this block.

Anyone know what they are converting the old Alphagraphics building on Central across from Centra into? Its under renovation, they seem to be cutting some windows/doorways to make the building more street facing.

Pretty sure its been vacant for several years.

Any one know anything about this one? Apologies if already discussed, but I didn't recall seeing it.

I do not recall this at all. Can whomever posted about it post it again?

You're right Diablo, the address is 812 N 3rd St, not 805.
Well found the post but looks like the link to rendering no longer works. Maybe Phxguy can find and post again?

I was bored today so decided to do an updated mockup of the skyline. I included the Berger Hotel on Central and Adams and Hines proposal for the Hyatt Garage. I did forget the Cambria hotel but got most of the big projects!

Those are great updates, Chase M! I love the added detail to a few of the buildings! They look really good. I'm also happy you went with the Hines proposal next to the Hyatt. Hopefully the city does the same.

Very nice! How were you able to modify the polygon? I would like to update my GE with the same.

I thought Hines was not selected for the garage?

Any chance you can do this including the low rise apartments too?

I actually used Sketchup to modify the polygons and height then exported the 3d model to Google Earth. Even though the city itself hasn't selected any proposal for the Hyatt Garage, only a recommendation has ben made. I went with Hines as it seems to be the most well received of the two proposals on here. Plus IMO the added height looks great within the skyline, it does a great job of anchoring the skyline to the south with Chase in the middle and Astra to the north.

If all these all built as proposed, the Phoenix skyline is going to look fantastic! As for Hines, I believe it's the far better proposal. Mixed-use with a tenant lined up, more parking, better height. I hope the city is not closed minded to the Hines proposal.

Well I guess some news is better than no news or coronavirus news.
No word on location or how many employees are coming to Phoenix.

Pittsburgh recycling startup includes Phoenix in its expansion plans
Posted: 9:44 AM, Mar 18, 2020 Updated: 9:44 AM, Mar 18, 2020
By: Patty Tascarella, Pittsburgh Business Times

A young East Coast tech firm that aims to provide businesses with a more effective and cost-effective option for recycling has its eye on Phoenix as it plans to double both its employment and the number of metros in which it operates.

Pittsburgh-based RoadRunner Recycling on Tuesday said it raised a $28.6 million Series C financing round.

The company plans to boost its employment, from 165 to 330 within the year.

The round was co-led by e.ventures and Greycroft with additional participation from Franklin Templeton and existing investors, Adams Capital Management and FJ Labs.

Slow news day. So here's the initial rendering for Thunderbird Legacy proposed for SWC corner of E. Jackson and S. 1st Ave. Looks pretty big with a 270' proposed height. Also looks like the developer may be going for a warehouse feel for the first 5 levels and the architect is listed as CCBG. This could turn out to look pretty good.

Not sure what kind of impact the coronavirus epidemic is going to have, but I am anticipating a few months of delays for any new projects that haven't already started. Hopefully it doesn't break a few projects

Link to my Thunderbird Legacy records request docs for your enjoyment: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1D6tFkcK9fWecsPeu8kZ3g0IrW5z5SQiS
