I’ve looked into hosting events there. There are multiple issues that make it very difficult:
- the giant planters take up so much space that there’s very little room for actual assembly
- on the little space there is, there’s even less that can have tents tethered down for larger events
- this is a (1) provincial park that is (2) inside the city and (3) maintained by TFNP. That means if you want to have even a small event like say a wedding, you need a provincial park permit, city occasional event permit, liquor permit, and coordination with TFNP on waste/maintenance/power etc. If you want a public event that sells food, add on a health permit. It’s just not worth the trouble when there are numerous better options around (that aren’t on a quasi-freeway).
