Between this, the Alberni office tower, and the Burrard towers; I am going to have fun watching all of these rise especially when the glazing begins.

As seen from my apartment and then Homer Street.

It seems they were removing the forms from the top of the elevator core.

Thanks!
I was wondering what they were up to.

You can see that they are starting on the 4th level of cubes - so pretty much 3 sets of cubes to go (12 floors)

Thanks for the great set of updates, McMinsen. I wonder what an iron worker from a hundred years ago would think of this project? It would be instantly recognizable to them but it angles and the complexity of column-beam joints like the one in your picture would just be so incongruous to their experience with simple right angles and cubic building volumes. It's a neat thought experiment.

Saw stacks of curtain wall window panes on some of the floors when I walked by today. Work was proceeding, unlike some projects.

Edit - you can see them in my pics, too.

My guess is most projects will shut down over the next few weeks. Trades will hold out as long as they can to keep getting paid but eventually they will likely be halted.

The Smithe has been progressing.
8X on the Park was quiet yesterday but they're pumping concrete today.
Burrard Place crane is active today, as is the 1335 Howe crane.
