Another massive project heading to Council Monday:

Bosa Bluesky's 'Brightside' on the former Brick site.
  • 40-Storey Residential with Retail at grade (Phase 1)
  • 50-Storey Residential with 17-Storey Office podium (Phase 2)
  • 50-Storey Residential with 8-Storey podium including 200 rental units (Phase 3)
  • Large commercial / market hall building in centre of site

I'm really liking the stepped podium on this one. I hope they keep the coloured glass too.

Another excellent proposal for Surrey. I have stolen it and put it in the Canadian proposals thread.

Well this is fantastic! Great to see a proposal that's getting away from point towers.

This is really cool, and its nice to see more action near city hall. I guess we'll have to wait some more to see a 60+ floor tower but that's alright lol

Nice, this should break the table top.
Is the amenity access at grade? That should really be a level up,
separated from public areas as there will be a lot of people milling about.

What's the other tower on the same block?

The market hall building will be great for the area as well. Liking the design, even though it's likely very preliminary.

Noticed the south side residential portion of the stepped tower resembles Vancouver House in balcony pattern.

There's also a sneak peek at Concord's next project in Surrey to the left of this project in the top (north facing) elevation. Shorter, wide, and curved (similar to the Arc?)

Or Avenue One?

The office podium reminds me of the original or modified massing for Marine Gateway (also by Perkins Will):

Amazing to see this proposal being made, and the heights of the tallest tower being similar to 3 Civic Plaza will add to the urbanity of the downtown core. The street level experience looks inviting. This proposal abhors the urban planning model of building towers around a banal looking mall - like Mississauga. This is an urban downtown core on the rise.

Interesting how they still show GEC Centre still being the tallest despite its revised application to lower the height. Maybe they know something we don't.

I guess the next big thing coming would be to fill the gap of the "Centre Block", so I wonder if that's going to incorporate a 60+ floor mixed use landmark tower, with smaller towers and the YMCA around it to add some breathing room to the area.

Surrey House!

The side of the tower and podium remind me of Vancouver House.. a lot.

167.6m for the tallest tower (new tallest for Surrey)

And 155.1m for the second tallest.

Not bad at all, hope this project has momentum.

This map shows where the Concord Pacific project is located - curved building upper left.
Interesting that the podium is set back, as if it could accommodate a branch line from the Expo Line
across to 105th Ave (and eventually to 104th Ave) - I know, wishful thinking....

The Holland
Phase 2

Quote:
The Holland Phase 2, a 227,000 SF residential tower with 305 market units, has received unanimous support from the City of Surrey Advisory Design Panel. The Holland is a two-phased residential development project, Phase 1 with 25 storeys and Phase 2 with 32 storeys, located in a parkside setting at the centre of a vibrant, urban city centre in Surrey. Phase 1 construction is expected to begin in May 2020.

Nice to see a height increase on Phase 2. It was originally proposed at 25 storeys, same as Phase 1. Liking the podium and top of the tower as well.

^ And built in the flood plain, too. Unbelievable.

City of Surrey flood plain map for this area (marked yellow, as it is dyked): https://www.surrey.ca/files/Freshet3.pdf

BC Lower Mainland Emergency Planning Floodplain maps, SW sector: https://www2.gov.bc.ca/assets/gov/enviro...tegrated-flood-hazard-mgmt/sector_sw.pdf (note, the dyke protecting the subject area is cautioned as being a "low dyke".)
