^^^ Make sure they're not measuring from the bottom of the basement.

If this is true, that the official building height will be 1,000ft (304.8 Meters) than Chicago is getting a new supertall after all!

Totally agree. And in 50 years or so it can become a mini skyscraper or a cute park

Yeah unfortunately whichever intern they gave the instagram password to is probably the least trustworthy source

It’ll be a nice plaza one day.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the current drawings through Bulletin 7 (Tower A IFC) dated 12/17/2019 show an elevation to the top of the crown of 970'-6".

Yea they could just be estimating if they did say that. Doesn't seem too legit to be honest.

For all (or most I guess) intents and purposes 970' is basically 1000'

^What they are saying in that exchange is absolutely true. It's not final until it is completed and things can always change. Just look at 9 W Walton adding several floors during construction. If condo buyers want taller or more floors, this height could still increase.

If you ever respond to them again, mention that 984' is that magic number...

Tell them that skyscraper-fans want an official supertall and it'll only cost them an additional 15' of building.

Maybe they're secretly planning on slapping a decorative spire on it at the end.

984 ft is only 299.92 m. So, to be safe, please tell them "we demand at least 300 m, or 984.26 ft".

Man and they say I have too much of a height obsession... I really hope they don't add a spire though, it wouldn't work with this building and that would be a super lame way of gaining height. Not very Chicago like IMO.

Considering that buildings need to be about 350 meters (~1150 feet) to even break top 100 nowadays I think 400 is a better "supertall" marker. 300 is more like the new 200 so I don't see the point of caring too much.

I did some quick photoshops of some possible spires but ultimately I think I prefer the design without one.

^^ I like the first one but that's more of a decorative crown, something Taipei 101 or ESB-ish could be cool
