I seriously can't wait to see all this action later in the year when it really gets going, during nicer weather. Chicago has not thrown in the A+++ Global Cities towel.

800 W Fulton - Concrete Frame

Concrete frame, huh? Had not been expecting it for this one. Normally (without actually seeing blueprints/inside info etc) I'd assume that this is just for parking floors, with a transition to composite/steel frame above garage levels, but if not mistaken all the parking is below ground for this one....

Fulton East is also concrete....as is 145 S Wells (and I could be missing one or two in Fulton Market).....so a smattering of concrete framed office buildings late in this cycle

Curious to know... What are the implications of this? Does concrete vs steel mean higher/lower quality or higher/lower cost etc? What kind of impression would this communicate outward if any?

My understanding is that it doesn't mean much of anything anymore, just that concrete strength increased allowing it's use in more designs due to its versatility. It's the default choice now.
