Original looked always strange and I am not sure if more helps. That's the hotel portion, correct?

I don't mind it, but angles on the upper floors (lozenge-shaped like Brentwood 3 or old BC Hydro (Electra)) would better blend the top and bottom,

I received this email this morning. Some "changes" are coming to Highline.

"Over 500 industry leaders have visited Highline in the past 4 weeks, and through their feedback, Thind has listened to the market and made some changes to the overall tower design. Highline is being converted from a 53 storey tower with a hotel to a 48 storey tower with residential amenities on Levels 4 and 11 and commercial offices from Levels 3 to 10. There will be minor revisions to the floorplans and amenities. However, the finishes and interior design will remain pioneering, providing homebuyers downtown design and specifications at Metrotown's best location.

These changes will be good for consumers looking for more affordable homes in the Metrotown area, because homes will start lower in the tower they will be priced accordingly.

They expect to begin sales soon of the first phase release of the Residences collection – homes from the 12th to the 32nd floor.

Previews of the show home are available now by appointment only."

So another height change?

Never seen a tower change so much during construction.

It's barely under construction. I don't pay much attention to it as it's basically just a hole in the ground. I suppose they might have poured some cement but that's it - there's been no 'building' happening on the site.

Not sure if the height is changing but just the number of floors. Less floors but office levels will be higher than the hotel ones

Typical office ceiling height compared to a hotel ceiling height would be a lot higher.

11 Ft -> 13 ft compared to a hotel ceiling height of approx 9-10 plus mechanical. (not an engineer so don't quote me on the ceiling height, just educated guesses)

It wouldnt take away height from the actual building but it would take away total amount of floors. Safe to say it will still break the 170m threshold (i would assume)

Too bad about the hotel...

Wait a sec - this is from the first post in this thread.
Are they just going back to the original proposal?
158.5m?

Well, that was odd. Going from 48 to 53 and back to 48. Like, don't they have names on papers before communicating to public?

Yesterday I walked by and the excavation is nearly completed.

Aww, that's disappointing. I was hoping for a new tallest in Metrotown. At 177m it would've really stood out along Beresford.

Oh my. You only realize just how big this pit is when you see it in person. Why does this building need 10+ stories of underground parking??
