Probably the same lights, it just looks like LED lights because of the photo.

The bus loop is being worked on as we speak.

There is a number of 600 plus unit projects all south of westminister highway. So over the next 10 years or so will see over 1000 people move into dt richmond
I realize Richmond is booming, but will that short section between Brighouse and Bridgeport ever exceed 7500 pph, which is what that section can handle with a single track. The busiest section on the Expo Line is at 15 000 pph (or a bit more?), and that's drawing from a much much larger customer base.

If a double track is required at Brighouse, that would mean the rest of the Canada Line heading into dt Vancouver would be very overcrowded, and we would be looking at a DT relief line.

What is the max headway on the richmond stub anyways? What would be the round trip travel time between Lansdowne and Richmond-Bridgport excluding dwell times? Do the trains even run maximum operational speed between the two stations?

Assuming that 90 seconds is the max operational frequency on the main line the Richmond branch would ideally operate at 180 seconds or 3 minutes. how close can to that can they get with the single tracking?

LED headlights too, which are much noticeably whiter and brighter than the older units.

The originals were also black, but seemed to have faded over time.

New LED headlights are easy to tell when not illuminated.

Other posters have observed that the trains are intentionally running slow to compensate for three missing stations; once Capstan gets built, they'll speed up.

Please God, tell me they also have air fresheners, to counter all of the great unwashed masses that think mass transit is their habitat.

Canada Line wayfinding signage at YVR Airport Station upgraded for tourists

Kenneth Chan | Jan 21 2020

New wayfinding signage at YVR Airport Station. (TransLink)

New wayfinding signage at the Canada Line’s YVR Airport Station now better informs tourists unfamiliar with TransLink’s public transit system on how to get around.

According to a new post on TransLink’s The Buzzer, staff with Vancouver International Airport and the public transit authority collaborated on the improved signage to help riders determine what transit fare they need and how to pay for it.

The improvements include bilingual signage informing the ability to “Tap to Pay” using contactless Visa, Mastercard, and American Express credit cards, which allows riders to skip the lines for the Compass Vending Machines.

New maps also have colour-coded fare zones, and there is even signage with fares to popular tourist destinations such as McArthurGlen Vancouver Airport Outlet Mall, ferry terminals, and cruise ship terminals.

Aren't the lights in this older train also LED? Photo taken in 2018

The single-track was designed to allow for a 3-minute frequency. Capacity can also be increased by extending the vehicles 10m by adding a C-car.

I like how the new YVR signs says Burnaby and New West is a 2 zone fare, even though that's only true if you take the Canada Line to Vancouver. Just get off at Bridgeport and take the 430, and it's faster since you dont' have to go all the way to Waterfront/Granville

Similarly, one zone fare to Surrey: Canada Line to Brighouse, transfer to 301.

Agreed - you could run Brighouse every 6 minutes, run Lansdowne every 4 minutes, and YVR every 6 minutes - that would make for 2 min headways on the trunk line. Given current and future development around Lansdowne, that would be needed to provide an empty train there.

Thinking further down the road, when 2nd YVR station gets built, you can then run 1.5 min headways, and employ same tactic. From Waterfront have YVR2/Lansdowne/YVR/Richmond-Brighouse terminus sequenced trains to basically double up capacity short of single track terminus station.

The only issue with short-turning at YVR2 is that it would be inconvenient for domestic travellers and might confuse out-of-towners.

Could be - at that point though, there could be an argument that the extra capacity is needed for US/International every three minutes, and the original YVR gets defaulted to serve domestic, and demand there isn't as much. It would be cool though to see Waterfront have trains arriving and departing every 90 seconds - hope those switches hold up!

I guess it makes no sense (?) to do extend Brighouse south as a single track and loop back tying back into Lansdowne.

Maybe down to Granville, up to Kwantlen..

...and turn it into a one-way monorail loop??? That would likely cost more than double tracking the final section (esp if you add any stations to this monorail).

That would also kill possible expansion to Steveston (I don't think it is realistic to cross the Fraser with it).
Richmond needs to figure out a corridor to Steveston that could be densified to support Canada Line.
Granville and Railway seems like the obvious route.
Alternatively, develop a streetcar or LRT plan as local feeder routes.
In the meanwhile, they should have a rapid bus as a precursor.
