They should put a cornice on the red building.

If you look closely it looks like there's a small white one on it

I think it's a trick of the lighting - I don't believe that qualifies as a cornice.

I do find it interesting how they are designing the street level podium to look worse and worse each time though.. shoulda taken a cue from the arliss shoe redevelopment. making something entirely brick is just gonna make it look soviet style or prison like - brick imo only looks nice on a commercial building when it's paired with stone.

^Atnor did a brilliant job of trolling you, Chronamut.

I'm sure it was a test to see how long it would take you to respond to that cornice bait. You passed!

What can I say, I'm a sucker for cornices lol..

also just for fun, I find its lack of cornices very underwhelming - I am not even whelmed.

Also I noticed this on their site:

"Illustration is artist's concept. Specifications subject to change without notice"

Why can't people just make a design and stick with it..

Yeah my office is on the back of it and progress seems pretty slow. I heard a rumour they were having problems with water (the infamous underground rivers in Hamilton) and that's slowed them down.

To be completely fair, I think a few of us are a bit overly excited for this development!

But also there is the new hoarding which I have definitely not seen yet, so that's cool, plus many of us know where they are by dirt pictures. I'm curious if there have been slowdowns or if it's just slow because the foundations were expected to take 12 months to complete.

These seem to be behind schedule. I saw and heard work being done Sunday evening at like 7pm I think. Saw night time working lights and noise coming from the worksite.

This has been without a doubt the slowest project in town. Don't know. Doesn't strike me as a complicated site considering - just big. Here are some pictures taken today. Also note the noise exemption permit issued:

Certainly lots of activity / equipment on site. At some point all that concrete has to get out of the ground!

I've heard they have been having water issues, hence the presence of that big orange box.

The ancient underground rivers that snake through hamilton have always been an issue. They basically turned a marsh into a city - tamped down bales of hay and poured concrete on top.
