Retail-Insider article is also speculating RUI or W for Pacific Centre. If one of the main issues with Four Seasons was ceiling height, how will this be resolved without replacing the building entirely?

I just hope they do something with the cladding and perhaps also the entire Howe side street experience and feel.

The article also says:

"CF Pacific Centre will be home to a leading global hotel and entertainment brand that will be unique not only in Vancouver, but the rest of Canada. "

We have other "W"s in Canada, so that can't be it.

Could the "Thurlow" property be the parkade entrance at Melville and Thurlow part of the Waffle Building at 1075 West Georgia?

Or perhaps 535 Thurlow (owned by Onni)

Even though the Stack is nearby, I don't think that those sites are prestigious enough for a Four Seasons. Thurlow seems like a backstreet on those blocks.

Given that they have eliminated the marble aggregate panels elsewhere on the complex, I expect that the whole Howe frontage would be replaced - and depending on layout changes, maybe windows introduced. I think the areas behind that wall (3rd floor) are currently back-of-house service rooms for the ballroom and conference areas and the the back of Harry Rosen (2nd floor).
So I guess it depends in part on whether Harry Rosen will allow it.

Lol. Agreed, we are very behind in hospitality services, among the many things not on par with what great urban centres around the world provide. I have a feeling Four Seasons here don't bother renovating because tourist would still pay an arm and a leg for the crappy services because we lack hotel rooms here. Also, other hotels in this city are not much better, although they still charge upwards of $400 per night in the peak summer seasons. Insane.

Only the Burrrad Building site is pegged at 700ft.

The rest of Thurlow wouldn't be suitable for a Four Seasons
(the Melville and Pender corners are small sites and "back-of-house" locations behind Bentall).
1090 West Georgia seems like a small site.

Only other site would be the former Coopers & Lybrand Building at Hastings (almost waterfront),
but that's part of a complex with the Renaissance Hotel:

Why would anyone sane want to tear down a nice-looking, perfectly working office building? I'm referring to the FortisBC building. Just pick a spot east of Granville street and let it go mreally high. It's a no-brainer. Viewcones is really paralyzing us in so many ways.

Planet Hollywood? and the aforementioned Ceasar's.
It would be odd, though, if they end up with a less prestigious brand than Four Seasons, given the lawsuit, even if it is modernized.

The article I read doesn't make it sound like an entertainment brand per se:

The Cadillac Fairview Corp. has announced plans to replace the Four Seasons at Pacific Centre with another luxury hotel brand once its longtime tenant vacates the space later this month.

My guess is that CF has already provided all the information needed to identify the hotel operator in the press release. Simply google the right info and the hotel is obvious.

Any hotel can claim to be unique, simply by noting its location can make it unique.
My guess is the upcoming W Hotel in Toronto will be a good guide as to what kind of renovations will happen here.
Although more rooms will be welcomed in Vancouver, we already do a much better job than Seattle in regard to luxury hotels. Seattle only has two five star hotels, the Fairmont which can be had for $300-400/nt but the Four Seasons often goes for $700-800/nt. W Hotels are often 4 1/2 stars.
