+4C and partly cloudy in Moncton at 3 PM. There's melting going on outside.

Our non-winter continues, +3C predicted for tomorrow. Next chance for any real snow is next Wednesday.

Lake has taken on an aqua colour today

Light snow expected tomorrow, 1-3cm. 5 cm Sunday evening. I've forgotten what the stuff looks like. Also, I noticed a lot of bugs flying around today.

Next storm rolls in Sunday evening/Monday. Looking like Nova Scotia will get hit first, and then eastern NL is going to get smacked hard.

Temperature was steady throughout the day. Low of 4C this morning.

The warmspot was Lillooet, BC at 15.9C. New high for 2020. That's an impressive temperature for January although I am not sure how pleasant it must have been with the hurricane like wind.

Actually make that 16.5 in Lillooet now according to Environment Canada.

There is a decent chance that could stand as the warmest until sometime in February.

One word to describe the weather in Vancouver on Friday... dynamic. The morning had light overcast and was dry and calm. By afternoon the blustery rain showers started again but they were off and on, sometimes intense and could start and stop very suddenly.

Friday's high at Vancouver Harbour was 10 C, the low was 5 C.

Sunny and +3C in Moncton today.

The storm heading up the east coast for tomorrow will be an event for NS and the Burin and Avalon peninsulas of NL. We are only expecting 2-4 cm here.

Our non winter in Moncton may finally end on Wednesday. There is another event expected then which may give us 15-20 cm of snow, which will be our first significant accumulation for the winter. This will be on January 8th, which is quite remarkable (for Moncton)

^ It's going to be a big storm for us, too. Latest forecast models are hinting at 40-45 cm by Monday noon hour. Winds gusting well over 100 as well, we could end up with a Blizzard warning for the Avalon by tomorrow morning.

Classic case of the winter storm. Not so strong as its rolling across land right now, but once it gets off the coast of Nova Scotia and starts tapping into that cold water it'll rapidly strengthen and give us a dirty punch in the jaw. If it had come up the eastern seaboard over the ocean this would probably be a huge storm for all of Atlantic Canada. I know MonctonRad is just begging for some snow over there in Moncton

We'll see how the rest of the winter goes but this has seemed more likely our typical winter here, compared to the Polar Vortex ones. Obviously there's going to be cold snaps at some point so who knows. We had a very tame start to winter last year also.
