Maybe they're getting tired of cleaning up after the annual flooding? It's about to be that time of year again...

Taking that into consideration, 4.5 million seems expensive. Though I do understand that the building plans and zoning approval (was it approved?) add value.

Looking good! So much potential for the stretch of Bank between Riverside and South Keys, unless Shawn Menard quashes it

As far as I can tell, his platform just calls for the city to respect its CDPs. The Bank Street CDP does call for intensification at the Billings Bridge, Heron, and Walkley nodes.

^Agreed. I just bought a condo at Bank/Walkley and think its a great area, especially prone for investment and growth in the future. It's only a short distance to downtown straight on Bank St and has many transit options with the O-Train, Transitway and Bank St buses right there.

Slowly but surely I hope to see Bank St between Billings and South Keys get more mid-rise apartments, rentals, condos, mixed-use buildings and then making the street more pedestrian friendly and welcoming. I think this will happen over time with business turnover as right now there are a few empty spots along the street, wider road and setbacks that are hampering it's overall feel..

The city recently started construction of an underpass for the MUP at this intersection. Currently path users have to cross at-grade. Should improve traffic flow and safety for all users.

It's the NCC who is building the underpass.

I'm personally very excited for it to be completed!

The NCC is leading it but the city is partially funding it.

I'm excited too!

I try to pretend that the NCC doesn't exist and that I live in a city where there is a single authority responsible for planning decisions.

Little projects like this one make such a huge difference.

The reconstruction of Bank Street is scheduled to start next year. Initial phase is Riverside to Heron then Heron to Ledbury.

Fingers crossed, but we'll see when the budget comes out. That projection was from 2 years ago. It will only start next year if it is funded.

The Functional Design Plan was scheduled to go to council in early 2017, and hadn't yet as of early 2018. Even with money, the project is off schedule.

I have been following this project closely and I totally forgot about that step, oops. It would be nice if the "next steps" section on the city website that I linked indicated something like "submission to council for review/approval". There are many improvements that can be made to the city website.

Definitely.

One of the really annoying things is that it is impossible to sort the "Public Engagement Projects" page by update date; so you can't tell what projects have had new information uploaded recently.

ottwatch.ca is great for dev applications but as far as I know it doesn't include projects such as road construction.

1335 Bank Street, located to the south of
the Rideau River, was purchased by
Lofty Riverside GP Inc. (Boulet
Construction) from 1924324 Ontario
Inc. for $3,750,000 or $307 per square
foot of site area. The site is proposed to
be developed with a 16-storey apartment
building.

Is this connected to this development?

Land at 1330 Bank Street was bought by the owner of Billings Bridge Mall (Capital City Shopping Centre LTD) in August for a cool 2.3 M
