Not really a thread for this in the Vancouver section, but there is a future Canadian Skyline thread in the Canada section.
Appreciate the effort and the post, but is the scale right for these towers? I understand that there are different elevations on the dt peninsula, but I see 4 towers that look taller are near as tall as Shangri-La, looking from the Mt. Pleasant view. Are those all serious proposals?
Tower massing are definitely approximations but the heights are pretty accurate (except for Senakw - the taller of these are visual estimations based on diagrams and the story range given - for now at least). I'll for sure keep tinkering though so thanks for the feedback. Elevation difference + perspective make Shangri-La vs the Butterfly and friends seem similar.
These models are interesting to look at. Where the skyline currently tapers off around the Burrard Street and Granville Street bridges, will soon be filled with very tall towers. Not too long ago, the CBD was easily the most prominent part of downtown Vancouver, but it looks like the southwestern section of downtown will overshadow the CBD area.
The Senakwe development certainly expands our skyline outwards, and the Molson Lands will continue that trend, as will development along Broadway.

These are several months old, but since the forum hasn't seen much for updates on this project, I thought I would post them anyways. It's been above ground since June, but I haven't had a chance to grab any shots since then.
Good gracious, but that's got quite the bunker vibe going for it.

For the longest time the City was trying to create the "dome skyline" in the downtown core. Seems like it's all a waste of effort after all. The short and table-topped CBD buildings would be seen as a mockery of the absurd Viewcone policies. Well, it's about time for the Kitsilano neighbourhood to shine, provided the Senakwe development sets a precedence for future tall buildings to be developed there.
While the minutes haven't been released, the signs are clear Vancouver's Development Permit Board has approved the 1st building that will host a Broadway Subway station. This base allows for an future increase in height, but any growth will be guided by public input into the Broadway Plan
