When you're searching, then the address is important. Just remember that the north or west side of a street are even numbered addresses while south or east side of a street is odd numbered. A lot of these projects are under different address permit wise though which is why my map helps cut down the amount of time to find things by a lot. The id represents the actual record for a specific permit - it's unique to the permit. Application number is useful for other reasons.

I'm very much familiar with how CDOT assigns house numbers as I've secured many in my job. I just searched the wrong address because I was working and browsing this board late on a Friday afternoon.

The permit status site isn't completely dependable. The true story of the permit is found in the architect or expediter's projectdox or dynamic portal accounts. For some reason the permit status site isn't accurate all the time.

Here's a more detained rendering of 717 Clark (AKA Imprint). If you count up to about the 12th residential floor there's one floor that is taller, and then it goes back to the regular height until a couple floors at the very top. This isn't just in the rendering, that floor was glassed in last week, and it is absolutely taller than the floors beneath it.

Any idea why there would be one floor different in the middle - mechanical stuff, or will those units really have higher ceilings for some reason.

Yup. Agree - and when I look for something on the city of chicago's site, I only look at the application itself for pending. If not found on there, it doesn't mean there's nothing pending at all. Stuff that is marked as "Direct Developer Services" usually do not show up there at all either.

Yeah, you can't see the status of direct developer services projects on the city's website that's available to the public. Sometimes doesn't show up until the permit is issued. One of the many quirks in the City of Chicago's permit process.

Direct developer services just refers to the permit process the developer is using. Direct developer services is where the developer hires a certified company to do the building code reviews - it's much better that way. However, the city still does the Planning review and stormwater, environmental, driveways, and revenue reviews through the direct developer services permit process.

My best guess is for the plumbing loop returns and distribution. In a building of this size, typically you'll have a high zone and a low zone, each with its own risers and return loops. So one of the middle floors needs an extra 10 inches for distribution from hot and cold supply pipes to multiple risers that run vertically.

You can just steal this space in the ceiling of the units on that floor if you're willing to do soffits and drop ceilings, but they may be going for a loft aesthetic with concrete ceilings, or not want the cabinetry on one floor to be different.

Any Insight on what we can expect for the upcoming year as far as projects coming along??? last years list was nice this year hopefully is nicer!!!

^A good question. What is starting this year? I've been busy in my own little world, but here are a few things that are more likely than not to begin this year. Some of the links below have multiple buildings described in the link, but the address I have listed are the ones I'm referencing. Sorry to not be more definitive, I'm also interested to see how 2020 plays out for new construction starts. There is plenty happening with things that have recently begun.

A couple apartments are set to start in the first half of the year:
1200 N State
410 S Wabash

There are a few office towers that may start this year, but are looking to book tenants prior to starting. With the office market getting pretty flush, who knows whether or not they will happen:
330 N Green
400 N Aberdeen
444 N Dearborn

There are a few projects with apartment, condo, or hotel use that should be starting this year, although some of these these have been on the street for years. I have put them in order of likelihood to start (most likely first):
800 W Lake
900 W Randolph
725 W Randolph
210 Stetson
330 N Clark
Parcel O

A big focus of construction this year will also be O'Hare airport with the O'Hare '21 project. While this work does not get much attention on this forum, it is ramping up in 2020 and the coming years with major construction activity.

I am hopeful that Wolf Point South will start this year, but have not heard anything about the project.

I think one of the most exciting things for me this year will be to see how the Moody Bible Institute Land Sale plays out. That will put 10 acres of prime land into the hands of one of the developers vying for the property and the developers looking to purchase the property are all seasoned players that will make the most out of the property for our city.

I passed by on Monday and can confirm it has definitely started. Didn't get any pics though.

Any idea where the core will be on 800 W Fulton? I've been following the construction pretty closely and logic would say in the middle of the site but I havent seen any indication. Just the ramp for the below grade parking. Thanks!
